ARY News serves ISI’s agenda: Did Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Samiul Haq address Shia rally in Lahore?

Here’s another evidence of how Pakistan army’s spy agency (ISI) influences Pakistani media in order to spread false news and misleading propaganda.

Today, Shia Muslims staged one of the largest public rally in Pakistan’s history (Lahore, 1 July 2012, estimated 200.000 to 300,000 participants), to protest against the ongoing Shia genocide at the hands of the Taliban and Lashakr-e-Jhangvi (LeJ, operating as Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat ASWJ).

The speakers at the Quran-o-Sunnat Conference boldly alleged that Pakistan government, particularly security agencies (army, ISI etc) were complicit with the ASWJ-Taliban killers in target killing of Shias in different parts of the country. Speakers threatened to start a long march towards Islamabad and to surround Pakistan army’s headquarters (GHQ) if Shia genocide is not stopped, and the killers not arrested.

[While LUBP disagrees with that part of Raja Nasir Abbas’s speech where he expressed unity with the convicted Taliban-Al Qaeda operative Dr. Aafia Siddiqui (describing her as nations’ daughter and a mazloom) and also where he, probably to prove his patriotic credentials, blamed US/Israel for Shia genocide in Pakistan, the focus of the present post is on something else.]

While the Shia rally in Lahore was a major show of protest against Shia genocide under the patronage of Pakistani State (government, army, judiciary), however, ARY News reported something else. They dishonestly reported that vehement pro-Taliban, pro-Sipah-e-Sahaba mullahs Maulana Samiul Haq and Hafiz Saeed addressed the Shia Conference organized by the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM).

In the following footage, ARY News shows the DPC / JuD Wahhabi leader Hafiz Saeed addressing the Shia rally in Lahore, which is a blatant lie and consistent with the ISI’s agenda.

  • @Malik Were you ever abused by a Shia when you were young? Don’t act as a troll to spew your venom against Shias, focus on the topic of this thread.

  • @Roshan:

If Shia leaders themselves blame Indians then what are we complaining here about sectarianisms? Hafiz Saeed also blames Indian for everything. Shia leaders and Hafiz Saeed certainly agree on that one.

  • @Malik

The problem with bigots is that they lump all leaders into one category. Stereotyping is bad, and trolling is worse.

Do you extract pleasure in finding faults with the victims, by broad brush stereotypes and off the topic comments?

Now will you kindly turn your attention how ISI is influencing media?

  • Roshan, problem with bigots like you is you don’t condemn or disown Shia leaders who are bigots to the nth degree and then get upset when someone points at this bigotry of yours and your leaders.

If you need to see the face of a bigot loo in the mirror, don’t get upset at someone who simply points out your bigotry.

  • Now here is the problem, this website support shias but don’t believe the Shia scholars when they believe foreign elements. This can be acceptable but declaring Aafia siddiqui as a convicted terrorist is totally unacceptable.. This is utter non sense.. LUBP is always crying for the atrocities against Shias how can it declare an innocent women as terrorist. This is hypocrisy

  • LUBP is more shia thn our shia brothers themselves lol.

I appreciate raja for expressing his sympathy for mazloom daughter of Pakistan. Such statements will help us bridging gaps. It’s ofcourse India and Israel behind sectarianism.

  • Largest gathering of Pak Shias in 25 yrs sends out warning
    Lahore, July 2, 2012, (PTI)

A new Shia party launched in Pakistan has warned that it will besiege the army’s General Headquarters and the residences of the president and premier if killings of members of the minority sect continue.

The Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen held a rally at the Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore yesterday and announced plans for protests if the killings of Shias continued.
Leaders said at least 60 Shias have been killed during the past three months, mostly in the restive Balochistan province.

They said they will besiege the army’s General Headquarters and the residences of the president and premier if violence against them was not contained.

Addressing the gathering, the new party’s head, Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri, said the Shias of Pakistan had now converged on one platform for their religious and political rights.
They will counter “terrorists and killers” themselves if security agencies failed to act against such elements, he warned.

Jafri alleged that the US Embassy and consulates were the “real centres of terrorism in Pakistan”.

As long as they are not closed down, terrorism and target killings will continue in Pakistan, he claimed.

“If the rulers do not expel Americans from Pakistan, then the Shias will do this job themselves,” Jafri said.

He contended that Shias had defeated the US and Israel in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, and now they would so in Pakistan.

The rally was the second largest gathering of Shias at the Minar-e-Pakistan ground, since a gathering chaired in 1987 by Allama Arif Hussain Al Hussaini, who was shot dead the following year.

The charged crowd of men, women and children, who had come from all parts of the country, displayed rare discipline by sitting in the scorching temperature of 45 degrees Celsius all day long.
Some of them fainted while a few were taken away to be given medical aid.
Shia leader Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri claimed the MWM was now the unanimous voice of the sect in Pakistan.

He warned all political parties, including the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, that they should not deceive the Shias anymore.

Every party had cheated Shias after seeking their votes, he alleged.

“This (MWM) will emerge as one of the biggest political parties in the country,” he said.

  • New party warns GHQ, Presidency of siege

    Asim Hussain
Monday, July 02, 2012 From Print Edition

A large gathering of Shias on Sunday warned of laying siege to the GHQ, Presidency and prime minister’s house if national security institutions and top government officials failed to stop killings of Shias in the country.

Addressing the convention titled ‘Quran-o-Sunnat Conference’ organized by a new Shia party, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), at Minar-e-Pakistan, the party head Allama Nasir Abbas Jafri declared that Shias of the country had now gathered at a new platform for getting their religious and political rights and they would counter the terrorists and killers themselves if the security agencies remained unable to do the task.

Jafri termed the US embassy and consulates as the ‘real centers of terrorism in Pakistan’ and warned that as long as they were not shut, terrorism and target killings would continue in the country. He said if the rulers did not expel Americans from Pakistan, Shias would do the job themselves. He recalled that Shias had defeated US-Israel duo in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, and they would repeat this feat in Pakistan also.

The conference was the second largest gathering of Shias at this historic ground after that of 1987, chaired by the slain leader Allama Arif Hussain Al Hussaini, who was shot dead near Peshawar the following year.

The charged crowd of men, women and children who had come from all parts of the country displayed a rare show of discipline by sitting under scorching heat of 45 degrees all the day. Some of them fainted while few were removed from the venue for medical help.

Nasir Abbas Jafri claimed the MWM was now the unanimous voice of Shias in Pakistan and warned all the political parties, including the PPP, not to deceive Shia populace any further. He said every party had cheated the Shias after taking their votes, “but now Shia vote will not be given for road, drains and streetlights, but it would be given solely for the sake of Ali (AS) and Hussain (AS) since Shia community has now become united for playing a unanimous political role.”

Jafri asked Shias to make full preparations this year, adding that “next year Shias will be the biggest political party in the country.” He warned that Shia votes would not be given to any party who would join hands with terrorists or banned groups. Despite that two leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Ahsan Rasheed and Air Martial (retd) Shahdi Zulfiqar sitting at the stage, Jafri said those believing the ‘fake Tsunami’ should come and see the Tsunamis of Hussaini people which would a make clean sweep in future. He also condemned alleged hooliganism of Jamaat-e-Islami backed Islami Jamiat Talaba and warned JI ameer Muanwwar Hasan to rein in the IJT, otherwise, the MWM would deal with the issue sternly. Jafri condemned drone attacks, calling them humiliation of rulers and calling for immediate halt in it. He said Dr Aafia Siddiqi was sold off to the US by ‘conscienceless rulers’ and demanded that she should be immediately brought back in line with Islamic principles.

Nasir Jafri said the MWM would constitute different committees and councils for coordinating with other schools of thought and for promoting Azadari in the country. The conference was also addressed by MWM deputy secretary general Allama Amin Shaheedi, spokesman Allama Hasan Zafar Naqvi, ISO president Athar Imran, Shafqat Shirazi, Sakina Mehdvi, Haider Ali Moosvi, Gulfam Hashmi, Mukhtar Imami and others.

@ahadhussain @AbdulNishapuri Fine with its being the largest rally. Some of the things said in it are, sorry to say, stupid and unnecessary.

  • It is India/Israel who are targetting Shias of Pakistan.

And stupid media is blaming and pointing elsewhere to promote a civl war..

  • Criticism of MWM for their stance in favour of Aafia Siddiqua is out of proportion .

  • Pakistani media is nothing but a tool in the hands of ISI and its agents Hafiz Saeed, Malik Ishaq, Jamaat Islami etc

  • I have read many articles; this must be the worst at trying to make a point without any evidence.
It is attempting to use Raja Nassir Abbas speech as evidence; but in the same sentence does not agree with much he states. Also; Facebook sites are not evidence.
You state fair reporting comes from dawn news; a media outlet owned by the Haroon Family (who have spend most of there time abroad in America) Hmmmm!!!!
I think you need a change of career sir (as you have not bothered to add your name to the article)

  • Watching these comments, why don`t we agree on one thing that we are all Muslims and we should live and let live.Only Allah the Almighty will decide who is right and who is wrong.I live in the UK and we have the best freedom of religion than any country in the world.
