Chief Justice Sahab, why were you sleeping for 107 days?

President, Supreme League of Pakistan

Justice delayed is justice denied. On 30th March, 2012, the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the Rental Power projects as illegal. A two-member bench comprising of the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain was hearing the suo motu case whose verdict had been reserved on 14th December, 2011. Oh, what was that? Verdict reserved on 14th December and Verdict delivered on 30th March. That’s a gap of 107 days. If the Rental Power Plants were a cause of losses of billions to the national exchequer and our all seeing and all-mighty CJ had realized how grave a mistake the RPPs were, why did he wait for 107 days? Off course, he had thought on 14th December, that the “Memogate” was in full steam, the President was not in Pakistan due to his health and it was anticipated that the government would be wrapped up. That dream, unfortunately, didn’t come true. 3 months later, the CJ thought, “let me hit back”.

It may be noted that this case was kind of a personal feud between Faisal Saleh Hayat who was targeting Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and the application of Faisal Saleh Hayat was pending with the SC for some time (September 2009). It was only after the PML-Q joined federal government and Faisal Saleh Hayat became a federal minister, the Supreme Court found it an opportune time to embarrass the government. It would make for great headlines: “Supreme Court delivers verdict on a petition of a federal minister against the federal government”. Not only a suo moto notice was taken but also PML-N’s Khawaja Asif’s petition was entertained and clubbed together.

We are not sure, how many hearings took place, but the fact that the verdict was delivered after 107 days of being reached, shows the lack of interest of our apex judge in providing justice or to safeguard “billions of the national exchequer”.

While everyone has been quick to lambast the government and term it corrupt, one cannot see Faisal Saleh Hayat anywhere enjoying the limelight. PML-Q is all but quiet. But it is the PML-N and its paid media persons who have cashed in on this opportunity to make political gains.

This brings us to wonder, what the CJ has in his plans. We are sure, he will just delay his judgments till the time of elections and unleash his wisdom and delayed verdicts. Afterall, he is not heading the Supreme Court, he leads the Supreme League of Pakistan.

  • As long as Rana Sanaullah’s cousin is Chief Justice of this country, you should treat Ahmed Ludhianvi as CJ of Pakistan.

  • Chief Justice has stopped any progress in Saindak gold and copper mines for the continued sufferage of our Baluch Brothers. (It is interesting to note that the Chief Justice is sitting Chief Justice thanks to his Baluchistan domicile (punjabi settler). He came all the way to Karachi to declare MQM, PPP and ANP responsible for Karachi fiasco. So Sind and Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa are also in his bad book. The province that is his homeland, Punjab, is the province of angels. Some satans (PPP)are there, let them be punished heavily. The writer has rightly said, Supreme Court is Supreme League.

  • CJ- is heading a mafia in Pakistan negating any law not to speak of any Rule. All Cjs of High Courts are lackeys who are directly instructed ” to be or not to be” even in petty matters. What towers above the rest of his National Crimes is to manufacture a Judiciary consisting his chammies who would continue his evil legacy and Pakistan will suffer.
