We condemn harassment of Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) by the ISI (Pakistan army’s spy agency).
In contrast to the shameful silence of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), Amnesty International (AI) and other human rights groups on the ongoing and systematic genocide of Shia Muslims in Pakistan, AHRC has published honest and factual reports describing the true nature and scale of Shia killing in Pakistan, identifying ISI-backed Jihadi-sectarian groups as responsible for this mayhem.
For example, read this report by AHRC which boldly states that “It is hard to refute the accusation that military is involved in killing of Shias in Pakistan”. https://lubpak.net/archives/73211
Thanks to AHRC and a few others social media and human rights activists, there is now an increasing awareness in Pakistani society, particularly in Shia Muslims, that it is not ordinary Sunni Muslims who are killing them, instead it is the ISI-supported Jihadi-sectarian terrorists (Taliban, Sipah-e-Sahaba etc) which are responsible for their genocide.
Because of the AHRC’s bold and honest stance on Shia genocide, Pakistan army stands badly exposed today in the eyes of the vicitms (Shia Muslims and other persecuted groups). It is therefore no surprise that ISI has tasked its better camouflaged assets (progressive thugs) to defame and discredit the Asian Human Rights Commission. A well known civil society and human rights activist, a former employee of Jang, has been seen spreading false propaganda about the AHRC. ISI has activated other similar stooges in the mainstream and social media to start a campaign of defamation and harassment against the AHRC.
We advise Pakistan army, ISI in particular, to stop supporting Jihadi-sectarian militants (Taliban, Sipah-e-Sahaba, Difa-e-Pakistan Council etc) who kill not only Shia Muslims but also Sunni Barelvis, Ahmadis, Christians and other persecuted groups.
We warn all ISI’s proxies (including the progressive thugs camouflaged as peace and civil society activists) to refrain from spreading defamatory propaganda against the AHRC or we will be forced to publish their names and expose their dirty tactics.
Here is a copy of latest defamatory propaganda against the AHRC published in Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman’s newspaper “The News” (of Jang Group).
Foreign elements trying to incriminate Army in terrorist acts
Thursday, March 22, 2012
ISLAMABAD: Authoritative sources here in Islamabad have voiced concern over spiteful efforts by certain foreign organizations trying to implicate the Pakistan Army in incidents of sectarian terrorism.
Sources, closely following the developments in the region, said that after the barbaric and heinous killing of 18 Shias in Kohistan, efforts were made to incriminate the army in the said incident.
They said a foreign organization, purportedly working for civil liberties in Pakistan, claimed that the killers were dressed in army uniforms and that the incident had taken place near the army check-posts.
The organization implied that all civilian movement in Kohistan district was highly controlled and monitored by the military, which was totally untrue. The report argued as the killers were wearing military uniforms and remained unnoticed despite carrying arms in a highly controlled and monitored area, therefore, they were either from the military or the Military Intelligence (MI) or Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
The sources said the report was a sham and carried to discredit the Pakistan Army. “There is a malicious propaganda campaign going on against the army and intelligence agencies in the backdrop of the extremely volatile regional situation,” said the sources who pointed out that earlier when innocent people from Balochistan’s Hazara tribe were killed in Mastung, the concerned group had claimed that they were killed in close vicinity of Pak Army/ FC check-posts.
“Such hostile organisations were first highlighting the separatist movements in their reports and now they have introduced the sectarian element to destabilise Pakistan and discredit the army and agencies,” said the sources.
“The claim that the Shia killings allegedly took place in the vicinity of military check-posts and, therefore, the military/ISI were responsible for such killings is simply ridiculous though it nevertheless reveals their level of animosity against Pakistani institutions and agencies.”
