While Pakistani and international media pays attention to Shia Hazara victims of the ASWJ-LeJ terrorists, the plight of non-Hazara Shia remains ignored.

Media and rights groups hide the fact that statistically a non-Hazara Shia is more like to be killed than a Hazara Shia in Balochistan. Many non-Hazara Shia face double jeopardy in Balochistan because they are Shia and settlers. BLA and LeJ gladly kill them. Non-Hazara Shia of Balochistan lack the larger community support, political network and media coverage available to Hazara Shias. Non-Hazara Shias of Balochistan are equally ignored by Shia groups (eg MWM, SUC – despite the fact that Allama Maqsood Dhomki who currently heads MWM Balochistan is himself a Baloch Shia) as well as by Hazara ethnic groups e.g., HDP etc. This is a classic case of double jeopardy.

Here is an incomplete list of non-Hazara Shia victims of the ASWJ (Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, also known as Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan or Lashkar-e-Jhangvi) terrorists, killed in Quetta and vicinity in last few years.

Non-Hazara Shias are diverse and a very small community; don’t ignore them. Their dead too deserve to be acknowledged and remembered.

600/500,000 and 300/20,000 is the answer to the question whether it is Hazaras genocide in Quetta or Shia genocide in Quetta. Of the 900+ Shias killed, 600+ are Shia Hazara, their population is estimated to be 500,000. At the same time over 300 people killed were non-Hazara Shias. Their maximum population is estimated to be 20,000 only. Death ratio (due to target killing) in non-Hazara Shias of Quetta is 1.5 per cent whereas the same ratio in Hazara Shias is about 0.15 per cent. Apologies for this statistical comparison but the aim is to empirically demonstrate that Shias of all ethnic backgrounds are being killed by ASWJ-Taliban terrorists.

The Shia Muslims of Balochistan, especially those in Quetta, have been under the attack of state-trained-and-sponsored Lashkar-e-Jhangvi/Sipah-e-Sahaba/Taliban terrorists. While on the one hand, the Shias have been mercilessly massacred by the brainwashed footsoldiers of the Saudi-ISI Jihad Complex, on the other hand, there has been a vicious propaganda by establishment friendly individuals (e.g., Ejaz Haider, Abdul Khaliq Hazara, some human rights activists) to misrepresent the Shia genocide in Balochistan as an ethnic issue, in which only the Hazaras of Quetta are being targeted.

This post does not intend to create any distinctions of differences among the martyrs of Balochistan, but only to prove that the ISI/Media propaganda about the ethnic reasons for this pogrom is a blatant lie. The malicious intentions behind this propaganda have been exposed previously, but it was necessary to provide a list of names of the non-Hazara Shia martyrs to support what had previously been argued.

Presented below is an incomplete list of 130+ non-Hazara Shia martyrs of Balochistan (mostly Quetta). The actual figure (300+) is certainly more than this, but the following were ones whose names as well as details could be retrieved and are therefore being presented. It may also be mentioned that non-Hazara Shias make up at least 30% of all Shias martyred in Balochistan.

The list includes martyrs from Urdu-speaking, Punjabi, Saraiki, Pashtun, Baloch and Brahvi ethnicities, who were killed not because they belonged to any specific ethnic group, but only because they were Shia. This also proves that the Hazaras of Quetta too are targeted by the terrorist ISI-proxies only because they are Shia, and relatively more martyrs belong to the Hazara ethnic group because they make up the majority of the Shia population in Balochistan (especially Quetta).

List of Shia martyrs of Balochistan (mainly Quetta):

  • I am very thankful to Ms. Marya for publishing this research.

This effectively busts the ISI-manufactured urban legend that Hazara Shias are being killed because of their ethnicity, not sect.

  • Thank you Ms Marya and simultaneously, I’m very sorry that you had to compile a list like this.

I want to see a list of all the PPP Members/Jiyala’s killed since Benazir’s second government was ousted. I’ve been asking for this casualty list for a long time.

  • Here is a latest addition to your list of non-Hazara Shias killed in Balochistan.

Thank you, General Kayani and CJP Iftikhar Chaduhry. Your SSP-LeJ-TTP jihadis have killed yet another Baloch Shia:

Pakistani Shia Gohar Aziz Kurd Martyred in Balochistan

Anti-Shia armed terrorist on Thursday gunned down the Shia man Gohar Aziz Kurd in Mastung District of Balochistan province.

BALOCHISTAN, Pakistan (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) – Anti-Shia armed terrorist on Thursday gunned down the Shia man Gohar Aziz Kurd in Mastung District of Balochistan province.

Martyr Gohar Aziz Kurd, 23, son of Mukhtar Aziz Kurd was martyred in the firing of armed Wahhabi terrorists of outlawed Taliban and Sipah-e-Sahaba, when he was going to his home from the main market of Mastung.

Sources informed told that he received the death threats from the terrorists from the several weeks but not bow down in front of the Yazidi terrorists and proffered martyrdom like his lord Mola Hussain (as).

The Balochistan Government has failed to prevent the Shia Muslims in Balochistan and completely failed to maintain the law and order situation of the province.

  • A survey of the Pakistani press in the days since the border incident reveals a society that is in serious trouble. Hysterical anti-Americanism aside, stories included:

    ● Deadly violence against Shias celebrating a religious holiday carried out by Sipah-e-Sahaba. That group and its offspring Lashkar-e-Jhangvi are radical Deobandi Sunni jihadist groups set up by Pakistani military intelligence in the 1990s to serve as military proxies. Closely allied with the Taliban both in Afghanistan and in Pakistan, they have carried out a veritable war of terror against Muslims they consider apostates (Shia, Sufis, Ahmadis, etc.).

    ● The yearly revival meeting of the radical Islamist proselytizers of Tablighi Jamaat, attended by millions. Tablighi Jamaat, a radical Deobandi organization active in over 120 countries and implicated in numerous terrorist activities, played a critical role in the top-down Islamization of the Pakistani military beginning in the late 1970s under dictator Zia ul-Haq.

    ● A spate of “honor killings,” including one of an American national.

  • @ Abdul Nishapuri
You have prepared the same list from graveyards of Hazara after making that you use that against Hazara, You try to show the world that Hazara don’t accept anyone else apart from them,
Hazara think that they are part of us, that is why they give grave in Hazara graveyard in mariabad & their graves are present in Hazara town graveyard as well.
Hazara never prompt intolerance, It is like you who divide the shia population into different categories,

  • The rogue army has made the life hell for every Pakistani and as the things are going on I am sure the rogue army will not rest until and unless every inch of Pakistan has been converted into inferno.

  • @Aziz Azra ,

You missed the message of the post . The point is simple LEJ is killing shias in Quetta irrespective of their ethnicity .

@Aushpaz Dear friend, Khadhay Ghulam is nt a constituency from where Qandharis will win and defeat Hazaras. Dont be obsessd @KarrarrHussain

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain Obviously not. A few thousand in number. @Aushpaz

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@Aushpaz They might have been incorrect in their analysis. But they thought they’d be spared if PkMAP owned them, stood for them.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain No one thinks that far and deep. They do not hold army responsible even when holding a smoking gun. @Laibaah1 @Aushpaz

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@Aushpaz Qandharis need security, which they think PkMAP will provide, and the latter is interested in their donations, votes and support.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@Aushpaz It is simple. PkMAP is indeed a secular/nationalist party. But they are also interested in VOTES/SUPPORT. This is politics.

@Aushpaz @AnwarChangezi @Laibaah1 While we are at it, women in Kohistan also reportedly killed. See which one media highlights most.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain They can’t. ISI is too powerful for PkMAP.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@Aushpaz You’re assuming without evidence. They are apolitical, VERY RELIGIOUS, and business-oriented people. How closely do you know them?

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain Because they do not want to disclose they were Shia, killed by ISI assets. At best, they’ll tell their ethnicity. @Laibaah1

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@shoaibsidiqi In that case @AbdulNishapuri has KHICHDI of an identity. He writes for Shia, Barelvi, Baloch, Pashtun, Ahmedi.. @farhadjarral

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain Obviously they do not have a favourable opinion of PkMAP, but not targeting them either as of yet.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain And probably one of them was a Policeman

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@KarrarrHussain The 2 Pashtoons weren’t targeted, they were probably pedestrians or visiting the shop when the Shias were attacked.

    3 Jun Shahzadi Tauseef ‏@ShaiziCheema
5 women killed in #Abbottabad on Jirga order, there sin was, they clapped on a wedding song… 🙁

    @KarrarrHussain Yes

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@Aushpaz And this was never a secret. Except those who want to present this as some great political conspiracy against Hazaras.

    3 Jun Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi

@AnwarChangezi @Darveshh @khudiali do you have the numbers for that. Because I’ve read the opposite.

    25m Anwar Changezi ‏@AnwarChangezi
@MeeraGhani 500/500,000 and 150/20,000 gives you the answer. Of the 700 people killed, 500+ are Hazara, their population is 500,000. At the same time over 150 people killed were non-Hazara Shias. Their maximum population would be 20k.

    Darvesh ‏@Darveshh

@MalikSirajAkbar this is not the first time that you have tried 2 obfusctae shiakillings and call it an ethnic 1 while calling attackers sunnis

  • It is totally a wrong propaganda against HDP, who is a secular party and never discriminate someone on the basis of ethnicity and religion. Marya Mushtaq always depicts wrong picture of Hazaras. Come and See in Hazara population, Shias from various ethnicity are living there. Hazaras has given them protection in their areas. Shias from other ethnicity had left their houses from sunni dominated areas and settled in Hazara dominated areas and no one including HDP has become hurdle in their rather Hazaras has welcomed them. If someone does not believe, they can visit Hazara areas and monitor the issue themselves.

  • Well first of all I agree to Naveed’s comment and moreover I would like to state that all Non-Hazara Shia’s of QTA are living in HAzaras Dominated Areas (Alamdar Road, or Hazara Town) if they are Syeds, Qandaris, Baltistanis, Naqvis, Banquash, Turis or Zaidis and are These are the ones receiving TOMANs and does what they are being told, spreading SHiaism which is in Iran’s benefit, after that only Hazaras are being targeted

  • Dear Pakistani media, civil society & rights activists: These deaths too deserve to be mourned & acknowledged.

Who will honor the 200+ non-Hazara Shias killed by ASWJ-Taliban in Quetta? Nobody seems to care for them, nobody speaks! Media? Rights activists?

  • […] 2. Several incidents of massacre of non-Hazara Shias and Hazara Shias of Quetta have been misrepresented as Hazara specific only. It is now empirically proven that both Shia Hazaras and non-Hazara Shias of Quetta have been target killed by the LeJ terrorists. 500/500,000 and 200/20,000 is the answer to the question whether it is Hazaras genocide in Quetta or Shia genocide in Quetta. Of the 700+ Shias killed, 500+ are Shia Hazara, their population is estimated to be 500,000. At the same time over 200 people killed were non-Hazara Shias. Their maximum population is estimated to be 20,000 only. Death ratio (due to target killing) in non-Hazara Shias of Quetta is 1 per cent whereas the same ratio in Hazara Shias is about 0.1 per cent. Apologies for this statistical comparison but the aim is to empirically demonstrate that Shias of all ethnic backgrounds are being killed by the LeJ (ASWJ-Taliban) terrorists. • The HDP social media propagandist, Saleem Javed, is sitting in Europe while pretending to be in Quetta. He sold Shia blood, to promote an ISI-backed ethnic party HDP and also to secure his own asylum.

He keeps on repeating his lies by giving Hazara specific ethnic colour to country-wide Shia genocide by ISI-backed ASWJ-LeJ-Taliban terrorists.:

To ABC Australia he falsely introduced himself as a Hazara medical doctor currently working as a freelance journalist in Baluchistan, Pakistan.

ABC : Saleem Javed is a medical doctor by profession and is working as a freelance journalist in Baluchistan, Pakistan. He spoke with me via Skype from Quetta.

Saleem Javed: Today the Hazaras live in the west of Quetta and the east of Quetta in two different localities which are sometimes now called ghettos. And now the Hazaras cannot move out of their own localities inside Quetta because as soon as they move outside their own localities they will be chased, identified and killed. The nature of the attacks has been different. Firstly, mostly the Hazara intellectuals and the officers were killed. Then the Hazara traders and businessmen were killed. And then later on, after 2008, then indiscriminate killings of the Hazaras is going on.

Only in 2012, more than 60 Hazaras have been killed, which include women, which include students, which include children, which include old people, vegetable vendors. Last month, a bus which was taking the Hazara students to a university, that bus was exploded through a suicide attack. Four Hazaras were killed. Now they are effectively under house arrest.

    http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/rearvision/hazara/4165942

He did not acknowledge that only Shia Hazaras are being killed in Quetta, Sunni Hazaras are safe. He also did not acknowledge that both Shia Hazaras and non-Hazara Shias are being killed by the LeJ which is a sectarian terrorist group, not an ethnic terrorist group.

    Shame on the liar.

  • Malik Siraj Akbar misrepresents Shia genocide in Pakistan
    BY ADMIN
Malik Siraj AKbar, famous for his Qasidah-e-Husain-Haqqani and asylum application, has shown his true color once again, this time he has backstabbed Pakistan’s Shia Muslims.

How would the Jews react if somebody said to them they were massacred not because of their faith but because they were Polish or German or Russian? How would the Balochs react if someone tried to convince them they are being killed not because of their Baloch ethnicity but due to their sect or faith?

This is exactly what Malik Siraj Akbar, editor the Baloch Hal has tried to do with Pakistan’s Shia Muslims by misrepresenting their genocide in Balochistan as ethnic violence. Malik blatantly ignored the following:

    1. Shia genocide in Balochistan must not be seen in isolation from Shia genocide in rest of Pakistan.

    2. If Hazaras are being killed due to their race, which race is killing them?

    3. Sipah-e-Sahaba (and its various avatars LeJ, ASWJ) is not an ethnic or racial organization.

    4. Hundreds of non-Hazara Shias have been killed in Balochistan in addition to Hazara Shias. The relative proportion of non-Hazara and Hazara Shias killed by LeJ-SSP-ASWJ is quite similar.

    5. Here are some relevant articles on this topic: List of non-Hazara Shia Muslims killed by SSP-LeJ-Taliban in Balochistan – by Marya Mushtaq and Abdul Khaliq Hazara and the ethnic cleansing narrative – by Marya Mushtaq

Here’s a comment by Mr. Najafi:

Malik, you are a sharp analyst…I respect your opinion on Balochistan since you belong to the land. But at times we tend to ‘irrationalize’ things. Don’t we? We do. This article of yours is replete with inconsistencies that you could have avoided by being a little more careful. You perpetuate the same narrative which the shias of Pakistan are trying to counter: ‘Sectarian Violence’ or ‘Ethnic Cleansing’. For instance, in one of the paragraphs, you say “Had the head of the provincial government uttered similar views about the majority Sunni community, he would probably face harsh criticism from the national media and the parliament but he was ignored, mainly because he had ridiculed an ethnic minority group.” Reread this paragraph a couple of times to get a sense of how absurdly you mix both sect and ethnicity together: ‘The majority sect and minority ethnicity.’ It is not only incorrect but also dangerous. Similarly, the whole article does not have a clear direction as to where it is going. In case your readers don’t know, and you yourself either, you should know that shias from gilgit to quetta, are being massacred for their belief not by Sunnis, but by state-sponsored Deobandi groups like LeJ, ASWJ and the Taliban. (haider_ali_najafi)

    malik_siraj_akbar | Apr 06, 2012 2:22 pm EDT
It is tragic to see how the Shias and Hazaras do not look into the whole issue together. It sometimes seems there is a competition among both the groups for taking credit of being the ‘real victim.’These attacks are perpetrated by Sunni militant groups but they result in the genocide of the Hazaras (at least in Quetta). I don’t think there is any inconsistency in the article. Inconsistency is caused because of your religious or racial bias (depending on you see it secterian or ethnic without looking into it as a humanitarian issue) There is no way I can help you with the issue as long as you, the victims, keep dividing yourselves among “Hazaras” or “Shias”. Your attacker is not divided but you folks are.

    ………….

In Pakistan, the Hazaras Are Punished Over Race and Religion
Malik Siraj Akbar | Apr 06, 2012 11:07 AM EDT

Protestors killed at least one policeman and burnt several official buildings last week in renewed demonstrations in the capital of Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province following the killing of five members, including a woman, from the Hazara ethnic minority community. The attackers are believed to be connected to Sunni terrorist group, the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, which has previously accepted responsibility for similar attacks that have killed hundreds of innocent Hazaras.
Balochistan is notoriously known among U.S. officials as a safe haven for the top Taliban leadership; fewer Americans know about the gas rich region because of Pakistan’s widespread violation of human rights there in response to a nationalist movement which aims to create a separate homeland for the ethnic Baloch. However, what is not reported in the U.S. media is the systematic cleansing of a tiny minority group known as the Hazaras inside Balochistan by fundamentalist Islamic groups. These underground outfits were historically created by Pakistan’s security establishment and still continue to enjoy their covert sponsorship.
A people of Mongolian descent, the Hazaras mainly reside in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. In all the three countries, where religion and race are dominant factors in shaping people’s identities and perceptions, the Hazaras have faced enormous hardships, extensive discrimination and brutal displacement. In Afghanistan, they constitute the third largest ethnic group but still complain of maltreatment by the dominant Pashtuns whereas in Iran the majority Persians equally asserts racial superiority over them despite sharing the common Shia Muslim faith. In Pakistan, around 500,000 Hazaras live, mainly in Quetta, where they have offered impressive services in local police, bureaucracy, labor force, education, information technology and sports.
The Hazaras in Balochistan present an inspiring example of community awareness and development. Visitors to their localities admit that they are always impressed with the clean streets and enviable sewerage system in Hazara towns. In addition, the Hazaras perform better than other communities in terms of girls’ school attendance, computer-literacy and fluency in English language. Despite these advantages, life remains miserable for the Hazaras.
Over the past few years, incessant attacks have killed the most talented of the Hazaras, compelling the rest of them to remain confined to their ghettos in Marriabad, Alamdar Road and Taugi Road localities in Quetta. More fortunate among them have fled to Australia, a place the Hazaras term as a safe and welcoming destination.
Last week’s massacre in Quetta indicates a lack of commitment and complete negligence of responsibility on behalf of the provincial and the federal governments which had already been asked to guard this vulnerable segment of the population.
For instance, in October 2011, the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP), a respected Lahore-based independent rights group, urged the president and prime minister of Pakistan to take “immediate, direct and personal initiative” to stop the attacks on the Hazara community in Balochistan. In a statement, HRCP’s chairperson, Zohra Yusuf, reminded the heads of Pakistani state and government that failure to protect the lives and property and basic freedoms of Hazaras people would have “serious law and order implications” across the country and make Pakistan a pariah in the comity of nations.
“Whatever their faith and calling the Hazaras are as honourable citizens of Pakistan as anyone else and the protection of their lives and liberty is a duty for which you will be held accountable,” she said.
Emboldened over government’s inaction, terrorists have indiscriminately butchered Hazaras in an extremely callous manner. On September 20, 2011, at least 29 Hazaras were killed by members of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in two separate incidents near Quetta.
In the first attack, armed men stopped a passenger bus which was taking Hazara pilgrims to Iran. They force all the passengers to come down of the bus before they began to inhumanly kill them. Soon after, the attackers killed three more members of the Hazara community, who had come to shift the critically injured victims of the shooting to a local hospital.
On October 3, 2011, two weeks after the earlier attack, a bus carrying Hazara pilgrims to Iran was once again intercepted and 13 passengers were gunned down while another six were critically injured.
The Amnesty International, in a statement issued on October 3, said, although sectarian violence had largely contributed to the general breakdown of law and order in Pakistan, these attacks seemed to indicate a new targeting of the ethnic Hazara community.
“Routine targeted killings of the Hazara and other groups because of their ethnicity, religion or political affiliations raises serious questions about the will or ability of Pakistan security force to protect the people of Balochistan,” said the London-based human rights watchdog.
In a debate at the British parliament on March 31, 2012, Alan Johnson, a Labor MP, said during an adjournment debate that around 600 Hazaras had been killed in Quetta but not a single perpetrator had been brought to justice.
The response of the Pakistani authorities to this human rights crisis has been that of absolute indifference and utter arrogance.
When journalists asked the chief minister of Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, what his government was doing to provide justice to the families of those who have lost their loved ones, he smugly replied all he could do was to send them a truckload of tissue papers so that they could wipe their tears.
The chief minister’s remarks implicitly indicate the contempt for minority rights that exists in Pakistan even at the top official level. Had the head of the provincial government uttered similar views about the majority Sunni community, he would probably face harsh criticism from the national media and the parliament but he was ignored, mainly because he had ridiculed an ethnic minority group.
The persecution of the Hazara community is unlikely to end in the near future until the Pakistani security establishment fully abandons its covert support to Sunni fundamentalist groups such as the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. There is ample evidence of contacts between the Pakistani authorities and these terrorist groups. In addition, the legislature, judiciary and the executive branches of the government have still not included the plight of the Hazaras in national policy debates.
Currently, the Pakistani government does not have a clear policy on how to protect basic rights of communities such as the Hazaras, who face dual discrimination because of their race and also religious belief. The authorities must take in tangible initiatives to make sure that the Hazaras are not forced to ghettoize in their communities due to fear of attacks from fanatic groups. They have offered remarkable services in various spheres of life. Therefore, the Hazaras deserve dignified treatment and reward in return of their adherence to the law and fundamental responsibilities of citizenship.

  • Hello,

Were these people killed as part of the attacks on the Hazaras or in saperate incidences having nothing to do with Hazaras?

You must understand that they are using religion as the front cover. But Hazaras are being killed for their ethnicity and being Shia is just adding more fuel to the fire. They are targeting two targets in one attack. Both Hazaras, and other members of Pakistan who are sympathetic towards Hazaras (who are from Shia sect of Islam). The goal is to create turmoil and who best to target then Hazaras (who have been killed for centuries now since introduction of Pashtuns (elites) in Afghanistan by the British).

    Thank you.

  • Dont fight on shia hazara and non-shia hazara i dont know about the statistics but I know one thing that 2013 two bomb blasts statistics is wrong.
