Imran Khan’s financial credibility? – by Ahmed Iqbalabadi

Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf keeps roaring on the money of political leaders abroad and how that is affecting our country’s development. Imran Khan is known to be a person of means, and this I am quite certain that he has certain obligations abroad, like an ex-wife and sons living with his ex-wife. Does he send the kids any money or he doesn’t? If he does, he either does it from Pakistan, through remittance or has accounts abroad. If he doesn’t, that would speak volumes about the man who preaches morality, ghairat and honor. These are his personal matters and should not be discussed that much, however, something more public is his accomplished project of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.

Before I begin, I want to highlight, why I am writing piece. Imran Khan after his Party’s CEC meeting, while briefing the press:

“He lamented the ruling elite had their accounts abroad and were taking away billions of dollars, as these were never spent for the welfare of the masses.”

I have just downloaded the 2009 financial statements of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust audited by AF Ferguson & Co. The 2010 statements are not yet available.

Some points I have noted, include:

1. During 2009, the cash donations and zakat received by the Trust was Rs. 1.485 billion compared to Rs. 1.106 billion in 2008. The statements do not show the sources of the donations i.e. geography. We don’t know how much was raised in Pakistan and how much abroad. We can assume that if not majority, a significant amount is raised in Pakistan.
2. Imran Khan talks against money being kept abroad. In notes to accounts number 11, I can see an amount at cost of US $5.5mn invested in form of capital protected notes in foreign funds. With interest rates down globally I am sure these notes are not yielding much.
3. As much as $3mn is invested in a Virgin Islands based SPV called Cinnabar International Services that is doing a real estate project in Oman. The Omani market is as much affected like the rest of GCC. Based on investment analysis some Omani companies  are down 35pc on the valuation. One also must ask why is the portfolio restricted to Oman? Isn’t this against the concept that Imran Khan keeps talking about.  Instead of investing his portfolio in Pakistan where his own project that is operational he is investing abroad? By the way, the project in Oman is run by a company whose CEO is a member of Board of Governors of SKMT named Imtiaz H. Hyderi. Isn’t that a conflict of interest?
4. As much as Rs. 99 mn in Bank of Punjab as fixed deposit and NIB Bank Rs. 18 million. The return expected is not known. These two are not the top tier banks of Pakistan. It is also a matter of surprise that Bank of Punjab is considered to be in trouble in light of their performance and the scandals. Why does the Trust consider these two banks only for their fixed deposits?
5. There is another $4mn invested with Credit Agricole funds in Guernsey without explanation as to where the money is being invested in.

Is this the level transparency you would like to have with an organization whose head and a prominent public figure preaches morality? Is this morality that on one hand you lambast the political leadership that they have their money abroad, but on the other hand, you yourselves are investing money raised from general public in risky avenues? What would happen if the investments of nearly US$ 12.5 million were to go bust? That is almost Rs. 1.062 billion! Please think about it.

The public trusts Imran Khan; the problem is that he trusts the Taliban and defends them in public by denying their crimes against humanity.

Given the huge capital inflows into his various projects, can we trust Imran Khan to not donate money to terrorist organizations like the Taliban and their local affiliates, many of whom like Sipah Sahaba and Jamaat Dawa gave him support for his recent “dharna”?

Does the ISI view Imran Khan’s Trusts as a conduit to funnel money to Jihadis?  These are all pertinent questions that come to mind when evaluating and auditing Imran Khan.  Imran Khan recently won the Jinnah society award for his flood relief efforts.  These efforts were not altruistic and were focused on gaining political mileage at the cost of actual flood relief efforts.

When President Zardari travelled to the UK which was the largest donor to Pakistan’s flood relief efforts, Imran Khan’s PTI combined with Hizb ul Tahrir to launch protests that called for Sharia.  Given that there are inconsistencies in his own flood relief efforts, would it not be fair to ask for a detailed audit of all the funds that Imran Khan collected from Western democracies like UK, Canada and the US; an indication of his utter hypocrisy given his visceral hatred of Western thought!

We are all troubled at Imran Khan’s extremist views, his defence for the Taliban and his character attack on Pakistan’s noted scientist, intellectual and peace activist, Dr. Pervaiz Hoodbhoy.  Imran proceeded to follow this with actual threats of physical violence against the good professor.
As far as Mr. Imran Khan is concerned, we request him again to bring his house in order before pointing generally towards others. SKMT is without doubt a proud project which belongs not to Imran Khan or other trustees but also to each and every person who gets treated there or ever donated to it. People will challenge what I have said, just to reiterate, I donated for the first time for SKMT way back in 1990, when for me Imran Khan epitomised a “hero”!!!!

• This was a much needed initiative. Like his warped politics views, Imran’s vast financial dealings are not scrutinized by a media that is heavily biased in favour of ISI stooges and Taliban apologists like Imran Khan!

• omg wht is bloody stupid guy written about great leader and only one hope for people of Pakistan. Mr. Iqbalabadi
your really FAG. I think ur one of liberal called and living on dollors..lolz.. stupid, u know f___king idea that who is this man and pls increase knowledge and We Forgin Pakistan trust only ONE IMRAN KHAN.

Syed
Whitby,ON

• Some fact about Pak Flood

1. pak army asked KP govt to pay rent for air lift operation of flood affect-es.

2. Bumper wheat crop after flood due first tranche of the Watan Cards, as well as the BISP, was utilized to both seed and fertilizer stock.

3. Anyone aware of percentage of sind flood affect es moved to karachi ?

• pathetic piece of writing ….. mr. iqbalabadi are you paid for this writing? i mean, seriously… is it your job?? to produce a particular number of articles for LUDP per day?? …. & many a times if there is nothing reasonable to talk about, just put out an amalgam of asinine comments.

• So toadies of Mr 10% are questioning the integrity of Imran Khan who collected more than 2 billion in matter of days for flood relief!!

Ahmed Iqbalabadi have you no shame??

Oops what else can you expect from pipliyas who drink Bhutto family’s urine as medicine ??

• @ janjua
lolz… but i think your comment might be removed… anyhow pipliyas do much worse: they promote servitude to bhutto lineage in the garb of democracy and liberalism.

• Charge PTI and Imran Khan for any attack on NATO transport.
Please Ahmed change currency from dollars to Riyals. Khan Sahib hates dollars.
International community should ban his party and his entry in their countries.

• Yes Janjua, we drink what you say we do. Does that make you happy? We also get paid Rs. 5 million per article.

• All I have done is taken out extracts from the financial statements. If I am wrong, please prove me.

• “Lost hope for Pakistan is only Imran khan.” — Kiya Pakistan Imran Khan kee mout par khatum ho ja’ay gaa ?

• Lol..what a stupid piece of writing..PPP should concentrate on criticizing him on his political activities rather than his Social Work projects because these are beyond any doubt transparent..The points u have mentioned are quite silly.SKMH is not Imran’s property neither it belongs to his party.Investing some amount outside country by SKMH to raise more money for poor pts of Pakistan is purely understandable and is different from holding personal properties outside Pakistan..Dont criticize someone where u cant defend what u r saying…just stick to his political activities

• @Azhar, if by political activities you mean being an ISI stooge and Taliban lover, then there is really not much left to critisize. As for SKMT, is Imran Khan responsible or Not! If not, he should stop taking credit. If he is, then he should not hide behind PTI trolls and accept responsibility that he has been caught in making not just a poor investment decision but an ethical one. Mr. Iqbalabadi has defended and researched his critique and is not relying on gheesa pita PTI slogans. Just like your ISI heroes were exposed last week, their loyal servant Imran is starting to get exposed. His double game of being a liberal when on CNN and a foaming frothing mullah on GEO is getting exposed.

• In the last comment, I meant “Unethical”. There is really nothing ethical about giving favours to fellow board members in another venture if the money is not yours but belongs to those how trusted you with their donations.

• @ iqbalabadi
“All I have done is taken out extracts from the financial statements.”
———————————————————
and then draw illogical conclusions from it.

• “you yourselves are investing money raised from general public in risky avenues? What would happen if the investments of nearly US$ 12.5 million were to go bust?”
———————————————————-
“what would happen”…. ahaaa
janab don’t worry about “what WOULD happen” … just take some time to think about “what HAS happened” to public’s money because of your beloved Zardari.
* Pakistan’s debt has doubled in 3 years.
* According to Transparency International under present government, corruption has broken all previous records.
——————————————————-
Now PPP chamchas will start discrediting TI. They will start lying about anyone who points out the weaknesses in the present government.

• Let us look at financial credibility of LUDP’s patron Zardari. He has paid ZERO tax. So this “bay-chara” does not have enough taxable wealth/income.

• @ iqbalabadi
“We also get paid Rs. 5 million per article.”
———————————————————
then we should focus on your financial credibility and also of those who pay you that much!

• waisay 5 million kay hisab say article ki quality kafi ghateeya hai …. lack of understanding, incomplete research, erroneous analysis, inaccurate conclusions.

• @Rim Jhim,

Difference is I am drawing my conclusions from the financial statements of SKMT whereas you are pasting information from websites that have been circulating for years…

• @Rim Jhim

Writer never mentioned he has proof of Imran Khan . He only pointed out his hypocrisy and double standard.

He appears daily on television talk shows and at times more than twice in a single and talks about other politician should brought their money back to Pakistan and invest here .

If he himself is doing it , why he is bashing others ?

• @Rhim Jhim, what is it they say about not going overboard? Habib Bank AG Zurich is a Swiss registered bank and has global standing. It has local affiliates in Pakistan, Metropolitan Bank. Problem with your zealous copy pasting is the FACT that Habib Bank AG. Zurich is owned by Swiss nationals/residents of Gujrati origin. This is a very prominent business family and it is silly to hand over their bank to Zardari :-).

Some of the properties that you listed belonged to Zardari’s family since before partition just like Imran Khan was not from a poor family either. I am sure if I delve further, other glaring inconsistencies will appear in your copy pasting. Anyways, Zardari has been questioned and I have no problem with that. It is part of the public accountability process and the same standards should apply to your ISI ladla Imran Khan. But do keep commenting and my advice is to make your defense of Imran a little smarter. Its been very shoddy so far.

• It’s only conspiracy theory. And I am sure that you have been paid a reasonable amount to write this propaganda. Be positive. What will we do with money if we lost our homeland? So an advise for you. Make this money 32 and Take it !

• Ahmed Iqbalabadi Changgerr Singh sb, apne contact id to add ker dete……. yahan per galiyan zaroor khani hain… Topic is Imran Khan’s Financial Credibility…. aur neechey a ker sari political chussain maari hui hain……

• huh huh huh ,,what do u think guyss ,they wrotte and u beleived as usual huh how is it possible that imran khan is a corrupt and imran khan speak against them,in public ,on tv,everywhere,,huh once again huh ,aghar imran khan corruption karta to kia plm-n or mqm etc imran khan ko zinda na khatay?huh what a rubbish time waster ppp who already wasting the time of suprem court to open butto case while closed benazir in mud without postmortum what a stupidity faced by pakistani 18 crorr sheeps

• Very well done Ahmed…
You have shown that when it comes to reality – IK is not the man to put his money where his mouth is…. but we knew that always..

Interesting to see the tactics of the PTI lovers … hardly anyone has directed arguments towards the content – Mostly have been personal at the author, Bhuttos, Zardari or PPP… and we know ‘Abuse is the weapon of the vulgar’

• In order to support my contentions in the article, which was not slander at all, I attach link of The Citizens Foundation Financial Report http://www.thecitizensfoundation.org/ePanel/Resources/DownloadFiles/Publications/Category/18/66/financials2010.pdf.

The organization also depends on donations from all just like SKMT. Look at their investments: all in Pakistani Rupee and in assets in Pakistan. All of their investments of Rs 85 million are in Pakistani companies bonds/TFCs. Similarly, deposits are in Pakistani Rupee and Pakistani Banks. Similarly, Rs. 101 million in endowment fund are in Pakistan. And remember, its not a small charity. They raised Rs. 693 million.

The BOG members of the TCF are all from corporate sector. Dont you think they know they can invest abroad too?

I posed a valid set of questions, which no one read, looked at IK’s picture and started calling me names.

If one has to fight facts, I am willing to do that all my life, but can fight fiction with facts.

• wow wow wow…zardari k naukeron ki baatein sunoo…

iqbalabadi …kiun ker raha hei apni akhrat ki barbadi?

YE MAT BHOOLNA K JITNE JHUT TUMNE YAHAN BOLAY HEIN YA SHAK DILANE KI KOSHISH KI HEI APNE MUSALMAN BHAI K AGAINST, INN SAB KA HISAABD DENA HOGA…AUR TUMNE AIK DIN KABAR MEIN BHI JANA HEI BEGERATT!

• There is a difference between personal assets and finances of an ngo. IK does not own SKMH.
SKMH money is invested abroad. Where did it come from?
Zardari’s money is invested abroad. Where did it come from?
SHMH money transits are through banking channels. The financial report is in front of you.
Zardari’s money transfer is through what? The tax documents of Zardari are also in front of us.
——————————————————-
@ iqbalabadi
“Difference is I am drawing my conclusions from the financial statements of SKMT whereas you are pasting information from websites that have been circulating for years…”
Problem is that Zardari does not like to do legal transactions so I could not find any similar document on PPP’s website. And what is the problem if the information has been “circulating for years”? It is from NAB.
SKMT report has been on website for “some time” also. You did not find any treasure.SKMT is the largest ngo of Pakistan and there are many more sharp eyes, brilliant minds and honest people to scrutinize it. The problem is that your analysis is faulty & conclusions erroneous. Topic starts with financial matters and ends with the usual LUDP’s diatribe.
——————————————————–
“I posed a valid set of questions, which no one read, looked at IK’s picture and started calling me names. ”

I did point out to your “valid” questions.
And what “valid” questions have you raised:
“what would happen?”… discuss it when it happens & right now it is better to focus on what has happened to Pakistan’s economy under the incompetency of Zardari & co.
———————————————————
And I am sure if someone from TCF says that present government is failing miserably in education sector, you will find some “wrong doings” in their work also.
———————————————————
Keep on writing such “thoroughly researched” articles. After all it is the source of your “roti, kapra, makan”.

• @Sindhyar
Also interesting to see PPP’s chamchas tactics. Read the article, few introductory paragraphs about some doubts this “financial analyst” of LUDP and then same old political harangue.
———————————
“hardly anyone has directed arguments towards the content”
same thing u have done 😛
———————————
Any how keep supporting LUDP but prepare your tax documents, coz sooner or later you will be caught in tax net along with the PPP rulers.

• @RimJhim, we all know the veracity of your info. Habib Bank AG Zurich is owned by Zardari lol! First verify your facts and then start the questioning. Obviously Imran Khan doesn’t own SKMT but doesn’t he have a role in managing its affairs. If not, then he is taking credit for the work of others. If he is, then he needs to take responsibility.

• @Ahmed Iqbalabadi Sir, just as you mentioned, SKMT does not belong to Imran Khan, you cannot hold him accountable for the investments made by CFO and Finance team of SKMT around the world. Secondly, several institutions, whether hospitals, pension funds etc, they all invest where they think they will get a good return. Anyhow, good luck with tarnishing his image, but im sure, all the people who have been donating millions of rupees, they do their homework before donating when it comes to ensuring credibility.

• @Syed, if Imran Khan is not making the decisions at SKMT, why does he use its efforts to bolster his political career. Isn’t that dishonest!. So like his ISI handlers, either Imran Khan is incompetant about how SKMT is making risky investments from charitable donations or he is complicit in these shady dealings. Which is it? This is not GEO, you can’t have it both ways!
@Muhammad, Ahmed has taken SKMT’s own financial statements in making his analysis. Are you saying that there is something wrong with the auditted financial reports? Or are you and the other PTI-ISI-Taliban supporters uncomfortable that your hypocrite hero is finally getting exposing as a dishonest bigot!

• lolzzzz ….. seems Ahmed has sprinkled some red-chilli powder on *sses of fan-club’s whores :)))
Looking at the two-three liners from whores of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Internet aka Pakistan Tehreeh-e-Imran) one can easily understand why poor Taliban Khan has not been able to win more than one seat in general elections during last 15years !!!!

Some pearls of wisdom from PTI’s whores !!!

“””PPP’s chamchas”””
“”” bloody stupid guy written about great leader and only one hope for people of Pakistan. “””
“””pipliyas who drink Bhutto family’s urine as medicine “””
“””Ahmed Iqbalabadi Changgerr Singh sb”””

• To be very honest is there any comparison between Zardari and Imran Khan? morraly, or any other ways??
Ok if Imran Khan is pro Taliban so what is Zardari Pro USA?
Please use your sences instead irrational argument then you will see the FARQ between Imran Khan and Zardari

• What a ridiculous Journalist you are, Mr. Iqbalabadi. Have you researched his ex-wife’s need for child support from Imran Khan? It beggars belief that you are questioning Imran Khan’s alleged “FUNDS” since according to you he MUST have money stashed somewhere in order to look after his wife and two sons. This is the wife who publicly humiliated him by leaving him for the Actor Hugh Grant, and is WELL ABLE to look after her two sons who she brought to live with her in England on the £300 Million Pound inheritance she received from her deceased Billionaire father, James Goldsmith. Jemima hardly needs alimony or child support from anyone, let alone a Pakistani ex-Cricketer, who put his life savings into a Cancer Hospital, dedicated to the memory of his beloved Mother who died of this terrible disease, which happens to be the first Hospital of it’s kind, since it treats 75% of Pakistan’s Cancer patients COMLETELY FREE. I refer to the poverty stricken in Pakistan who had no recourse to ANY free treatment of this standard before Imran Khan’s Hospital unlike the wealthy who travel to America or Europe for treatment. This is a huge achievement in itself, created by one man alone. Now he is trying desperately to give Pakistan back it’s self esteem by enabling it to stand on it’s own two feet and no longer be victimised like the battered wife of the West, grateful for any crumbs thrown to her. But God Forbid a man with Truthful, Decent, Honest intentions should be even considered by the Elite in Pakistan to drag it out of the corrupt hole it sits contentedly in, digging it deeper by the day. Oscar Wilde said “NO GOOD DEED EVER GOES UNPUNISHED”. A truer phrase was never uttered. Good Luck Imran Khan.. against so much bias and negativity you certainly need it! Shireen Khan.

• Dear Mr. Fawad,

Actually there IS definitely ONE difference of such magnitude between Mr. Zardari and Imran Khan which I feel I must point out.

The difference being that Imran Khan, unlike Mr. Zardari did not “accidentally shoot his first wife dead,” prior to marrying Benazir Bhutto.

ONLY the Corrupt elite, Politicians and Press of Pakistan could find a deed such as Mr. Zardari’s entirely acceptable and not have him tried for Murder in the First Degree, or even Manslaughter. In fact, I do not believe he was even reproached for the “accidental” shooting of his first wife either privately or publicly.

Can you imagine a man such as that being ALLOWED into Politics without the most severe scrutiny, a full trial and absolute vindication, LET ALONE being “elected” Leader of the Nation in ANY other civilised Country?

Imran Khan and his ex-wife, due to his unbelievably forgiving and generous nature, (despite her outright humiliation of him), which for a Pathan man with his Pride is unprecedented not to avenge himself even with a single unkind word spoken about her, let alone deed to harm her in any way, are on the most civilised terms, remain friends, and she is still a firm supporter of Imran’s despite returning to live in the West.

If this still tells his critics NOTHING of the moral fibre of Imran Khan, I give up.

Shireen Khan.

• After reading comments of imran khan’s fan club, I wonder why he doesn’t win elections?

• The PTI and its leader are perhaps politically insignificant, but conceding space to such Ziaist propaganda has the potential to radicalize the nation, especially our youth. Fortunately, Mr Khan is not perceived as an American stooge — he is seen as a Taliban apologist .It is not just the journalists embedded with the jihadists who are peddling nonsense. Among the politicians, Mr Imran Khan keeps outdoing himself in the craft of black propaganda. He has been stuffing people with this Goebbels-speak for years and, unfortunately, the western print media is one such avenue he uses to push his outlandish assertions. Mr Khan has completely glossed over the terrorist acts of the jihadists trained in the Pak-Afghan border regions.

• The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is registered in the USA with the unbelievable name: “PTI NA, USA – LLC”. If my little bit of knowledge is correct, then LLC means LImited Liability Company. Since when Political Parties are Limited Liability Companies? Or was it supposed to be a “Limited Ability Company”?

This brings me to another point, PTI, if registered as a political party in the USA, then it has the right to protest against the US policies? If yes, then can they identify how many times have they protested inside the US against the Drone Attacks and their beloved Afia Siddiqui or filed a suit/petition against these “human rights violations”?

• Don’t be so immature Mr. Athar Ahmed, with your childish remarks regarding Imran Khan’s “Fan Club”….

These are not the comments of a love-struck teenager, but a proud, middle aged Cricket loving Pathan woman, who has more than attained her half Century. I am simply pointing out some facts about the present “Leader” of Pakistan which were hushed up by those in power many years ago.

And defending the daft remarks about Imran Khan needing “financial investigation” as he is “obviously” supporting his ex-wife, the daughter of a deceased British Billionaire, and his two sons who all live in Britain in the manner to which they are accustomed. Jemima can support herself, and much of Pakistan too, if she had the inclination. She does not need Imran’s pitiful income.

The only intelligent comment you sarcastically made is “wondering why he doesn’t win elections?” I, in all sincerity have been wondering about that myself for some years now, and only at this age feel confident to finally speak out of the foolishness that is prevailing in Pakistan.

Given a chance to lead Pakistan out of the current crisis it is facing, possibly the greatest one in it’s 63 years, with further experience over the years, he will learn the intricacies involved in Politics that he is accused of being ignorant of. At least he is being pro-active in the only way he can think of, by trying in vain to stop innocent people from being butchered by drone attacks, not sitting on his hands waiting for a Miracle. Even if his 24 hour of blocking NATO supplies does not make a dent in the situation, it will succeed, one hopes, in rallying the warring divisions in Pakistan to come together and stop fighting each other and stand united. God only helps those who help themselves. Allow him to inspire the young of Pakistan to regain their self esteem and to aim to be free of Foreign aid and hand outs, which come with a VERY heavy price.

• Imran Khan ke Pukaar Remains Silent for Many
By Rafeel Wasif
Sunday September 12, 2010

The recent floods are the biggest in the history of Pakistan, and have left more than 1600 people dead and thousands desolate and moth-eaten without a single penny left in their pocket. This has led to an intense call for aid from the world fraternity, and consequently has led to a mushroom growth of hundreds of relief groups who are working in the flood affected areas. Imran Khan Foundation is indeed one of them, and has received lots of media attention for its activities.

The foundation recently asked for volunteers from a host of universities in the country, and it was in this context that a group of 27 students from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), and Government College University Lahore (GCU) went to visit Khangarh near Muzaffargarh under the banner of Imran Khan Foundation. The pretext given to them was that they would be assisting in the distribution of the relief goods to the flood victims, which was fair enough.

So after an arduous journey of more than 10 hours, with a stop at the Multan residence of the ex-Nawab of Bahawalpur, the entourage at last reached its first destination. Here they were told that they would distribute the goods among the flood victims after a speech from Imran Khan. Two relief trucks were already parked near the vicinity, along with a van from Geo TV, which was understandable as the relief effort is a joint collaboration between Imran Khan and Mir Khalil Foundation, which also runs Geo TV.

A large crowd of 2000-3000 flood victims had already gathered at the site, and all were waiting for Imran Khan. However, what was more disturbing was the fact that the place was filled with more flags of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf than Imran Khan Foundation, giving the place more of a look of a political rally than a relief camp.

The gentleman in question, Imran Khan arrived in a posh car, flanked by local notables, and gave a five-minute speech. This was covered by the media. He then left with his entourage. The media vans also left with him.

Imran Khan in full swing: Soothing wounds with words but little aid
However, it was disturbing that the relief good trucks that had been parked outside the camp also left in dust, leaving the crowd of thousands in complete confusion. There were people who had been waiting the whole day for relief goods, and had literally walked five kilometers from their homes to get aid. However, they were left completely bamboozled, and decided to turn to the Bus of the LUMS and GCU students to ask for aid.

The Relief Truck about to leave without distributing any relief goods

People waiting expectantly
They started banging the windows of the bus and crowded around it, asking for aid, showing their ID cards, and telling their individual predicaments. The students were left completely shaken, as even the security had gone away with Imran Khan.

However, at last, all the volunteers barged in to the bus. The driver ignited the engine, and with great difficulty, the crowd subsided and the bus was able to leave the place. The head of the team contacted the representative of the Foundation, and was told to go to the next camp, where the relief goods would be distributed without any explanation as to why the goods were not distributed at the previous camp. The group reached the next camp but was met with the same story. Here a representative of the organization holding a two-barreled gun to subside the crowd told them that there would be no distribution of relief goods that day. Here again they were surrounded by throngs of people who had left barn and home on the eve of dawn just to reach the camp for goods. But there they did not get anything as before.

The group again contacted their Coordinator who told them that the relief goods will be distributed, compounding their confusion as to who to believe. He told them to go to another camp. And the confusion and disarray continued.

To cut the long story short, throughout the day, the group visited camps, but the goods were being distributed nowhere, despite their coordinator telling them the contrary. There was no security, no coordination. At last the Coordinator himself came to the group near the Aftar time and said that he had ordered six trucks, which would come, and then the group can distribute the goods.

The explanation that he gave to the group was that many so-called flood victims were fake, so the Organization had decided to distribute the goods on a home-to-home basis so that it reaches those most in need, and not only those who had gathered at the relief camp. However, it begged the answer that what were the trucks doing in the Imran Khan rally in the first place if the Organization did not intend to distribute good. Was it not a ploy garnered by Imran Khan Foundation to gather a large crowd, get some media attention, and leave without even distributing the goods that they claim to be distributing?

Secondly, what was also strange was the fact that why Imran Khan Foundation had asked for volunteers from LUMS and GCU if they were not there to distribute goods to the flood victims in the relief camps as they had initially been told. Why had they asked volunteers from Lahore to take an arduous journey worth ten hours, if their only worth during the whole trip was to attend the political rally?

Also, what were so many Tehreek-e-Insaaf flags doing in a relief camp run by an organization that claims itself to be above political affiliations? Does this not in itself depict the fact that the organization is being used to garner political support?

And lastly, what does the fact that suddenly the Coordinator turns up with six relief goods trucks near Aftari time, for distribution by the LUMS and GCU students tells you. Does it not in itself contradict his initial statement that relief goods were being distributed on a home-to-home basis?

In the end, it can be said that Imran Khan Foundation may well be doing some very noble work. But it should not tarnish its image by posting large trucks outside its camps to lure people, and not even distribute a single good.

Yes, it looks good in the media to say that volunteers from leading universities like LUMS and GCU are volunteering in the Imran Khan Foundation’s Relief Camps. Imran Khan without a doubt is one of the few charismatic figures still present in Pakistan, who could in essence inspire youth. But what will youth think of him after such experiences?

I was one of the 23 LUMS students who went there. 4 other students of GCU were there with us. I suppose the trucks did not distribute the goods because they could be used again at other camps to lure people there and gain publicity etc (that’s my and my colleagues’ explanation for it). Formula = One truck, 10 camps, 10 speeches, 10 times to show off in front of the media at the expense of the peoples’ trouble. I now think, how can we be sure whether the trucks even had relief goods in them.. They might have been just a hoax to show the camera for all we know.. We were told that Imran Sahab would make the speech and then we students would give out the relief items to the crowds with our own hands. It was a shocking experience for all of us. Its quite embarrassing and infuriating to say this but Imran Khan used us. Even though we did not achieve the purpose of having gone there to distribute the goods, it was an eye-opening experience overall. Atleast we saw the condition of the affected people with our own eyes. Seeing it is more moving than watching it on television. I would request all my friends to go out and help these people.

Excellent article Rafeel. This was a real eye-opener for me and should be for many who idealize Khan. Great to see a LUMS student engaging in constructive criticism and actually writing concisely without unnecessary bs and verbosity.

See after 2:06, we LUMS students get mentioned. Imran Khan is busy defending himself with stupid excuses; so typical of these politicians.

Excellent Article. And to all of those defending Imran Khan and truly democratic processes/leaders: if you feel the need to ask for the removal of articles on the internet, perhaps you should rethink your faith in the democratic process. Leaders, good or bad, need to be able to withstand criticism in order to constantly justify their positions of power in society. This article is not propaganda, it is clearly balanced when it states support for Imran Khan’s effort towards the end. Truth (which emanates often from criticism) is far more important for the Pakistani people than blind support for politicians, no matter how infallible they may seem.

E. Fahim · 34 weeks ago
He is completely unconvincing in the video. Patronizing when he talks about the students and and feeble in his defense when Abbasi points out that he failed to send the goods where they were most needed. All of Pakistan needs help is not a good enough answer.

Dr. Irfan Zafar · 34 weeks ago
This is serious. Imran has to explain this, else he is going to lose whatever credibility he has established over the years because of his dedication to humanitarian causes.

Anum Af · 34 weeks ago
@shagufta k

isnt it prove enough that 27 people are witnesses to this incident? they not only have pictures but videos as prove that something like this happened. the questions that you have raised are valid, and I KNOW, that these were the very questions that the students asked themselves before coming out with the story to the public. however, these questions can only be answered by the organizers.

what needs to be realized here is that, this MIGHT be a sole incident of its kind. in a huge relief operation such as this, things are bound to get mismanaged. HOWEVER, then again, this also MIGHT be one of the MANY incidents that have already taken place and have not been reported. We, as a nation, should know both sides of the picture.

Maryam S · 34 weeks ago
I’m one of the 27 peopel who went from LUMS. We are not spreading the word for the sake of mere propaganda.I understand when you ask why Imran Khan would do so and so. The answer is simple: Party Politics and Publicity stunts. We were told earlier (before the trip) by the coordinater that Imran Khan is trying to rise above the party politics and devote himself to social work. Hence, the whole incident came as a real shocker to the volunteers too.

And the witness of 27 people really doesn’t leave any doubts about the authenticity of this article.

Ansar Shah · 34 weeks ago
Ok here is the truth at last :

We (the LUMS and GCU students) are pissed of at IKF because IKF tried to USE us in their publicity stunt They spent 30,000 on our transport and on our way we stayed at a Nawab Sadiq’s lavish farm house in Multan (and had a extravagant breakfast there). And all we were expected to do, in return, was to attain the rally of Imran Khan as ‘LUMS Students’.

Humara dil tha k ‘khidmat e khalq’ ka kaam karein ge and It turned up as ‘Khidmat e IKF’ that is why Rafeel has written this article And our whole entourage bears the testimony of its truthfulness.

Now If any one has any problem with the authenticity please come to us, we will show you the videos n pics (baqi khali batein karne ka faida nai). And i am sure you would have done the same if some one tried to misrepresent you. We did not distribute any thing with IKF, so we didn’t want them to say it in media that LUMS students are volunteering for IKF. And that is not wrong, as we stated the truth.

Pakistan Zindabad.!

hor jansher kon ae.!!!???

• Imran Khan in D.G. Khan

Apparently, the PTI wallas lured poor people to Imran Khan’s jalsa in D.G. Khan through a false promise of the distribution of ration to the flood affected people. The situation turned ugly when the only thing the people got from Imran Khan’s public meeting was his oft-repeated commitment to creating a welfare state in Pakistan:

• @Shireen Khan, these LUDP fascists are against all good Pakistanis- the are anti-Taliban, anti-ISI and anti-Jamaat Islami. What makes you think they will support Imran Khan. Sir Khan should make sure that no Pakistani forgets how he has cured cancer throw herbal and spiritual remedies at SKMT. We all know how he exposed Western propaganda about science in his greatest essay “Why the West craves materialism…”

These other Zionist agents from the Christain, Parsi, Hindu and Rafzis who made schools and hospitals in Pakistan did so because they wanted to make people modern and Western. Imran Khan made SKMT so that he can be supported by ISI patriots to become Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Shireen Khan, the Jamaat Islami, Sipah Sahaba and Taliban are with you and Imran Khan in his struggle against the corrupt politicians who run this site. Please post this article at neutral sites like insaf.pk and pkpolitics.com so that patriot Pakistanis from educated backgrounds can teach these Jahil Jiyala peasants the lesson they deserve!

• WOW. Imran Khan apologists are defending Sipah Sahaba in bid to defend their Hero .

• His anti-US stance I never get it. It confuses me. Can we not dialog and just get along with every country. Do we really have to fight all??

• Dear “Truth Seeker”…HAVE YOU NO SHAME? This is your ignorant, abusive one phrase Claim to Fame in life, which does not tax your pea sized brain since your vocabulary does not extend to more than your acquired Text-speak usage of “LOLZZZ” accompanied by a yellow SMILEY FACE next to it?

What are you? TWELVE???…and ill mannered and badly brought up with it?

lolzzzz ….. seems Ahmed has sprinkled some red-chilli powder on *sses of fan-club’s whores ))

……………………………………………………………

Again, let me quote Oscar Wilde, though I doubt you are acquainted with his words: “If you tell the Truth, you are bound, sooner or later to be found out”.

Hard though it must be for you to work that out, do try. And one thing Imran Khan does to is “Tell the Truth”. So by all rights, he is “bound, sooner or later to be found out”.

You quote the PTI’s misguided phrases? Have you read your own email above, which insults, and demeans ALL women globally? Do you know the definition of the word “WHORE,” which if you do not, I suggest you look up in the English Oxford Dictionary before throwing it about so lightly. And you took about their *sses? There are dignified, older, Pathan Sayyed (descended from the Prophet, so be careful of how you reply to me) women such as I, who have the right to comment on this Article too, since Pathan women have from the beginning of time been given equal rights, and even in the days of old, fought battles alongside their men with weapons to defend their land, leaving their children at home. I am loathe to be put in a position to forcibly read your gutter language in order to acquaint myself with what people are saying on this Site in order to put my own views forward in a civilised and educated manner. I think an apology is owed in this instance, would you not agree?

If you have any half intelligent point to communicate on this Site, do so. But do not use it as a forum for your pathetic school boy behaviour, or if you are an adult, locker room language, just for the purpose of “venting”.

Shireen Khan.

• Well the fact that his supporters support JuI and Sipah Sahaba is probably enough for me to not look at him as a potential candidate in the future. Keep your Islamisim to yourself please.

• @Shireen Khan, When I read this article, I did my research and studied all the links embedded in it. I also studied pictures of Imran Khan’s recent dharna in Peshawar from English and Urdu newspapers and was horrified to see many flags of banned Jihadi organizations in the forefront.

After that I studied the following link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQ2o_fFQPE4

where Imran Khan is simply lying about Taliban atrocities.

Shireen Khan, you can continue to live in denial but do you know how many people are leaving PTI? It was always a party of the upper middle class with no real roots amongst the poor. But after the flood, Imran’s relief efforts were just an optical illusion and he was not even distributing the goods in many cases. Go to interior Sindh and Punjab and rural areas, there are many places in D.G. Khan and Jacobabad where Imran Khan came with trucks where all the bags were marked with PTI logo and then, in most cases, nothing was distributed.

Since last many years, most educated people have left PTI but now, since Imran’s flood frauds, people are not donating and it is widely rumoured that ISI is pumping money into SKMT!

• @Shireen Khan, I have been a PTI supporter since 1997 and have been supporting SKMT until fairly recently. I never liked the PPP because we were taught that Benazir is a RAW agent and Imran used to hate her and did not even greet her when she visited SKMT in 1994-5 as Prime Minister to donate. However, now my eyes are opening and while PPP is still unimpressive but they have their constraints and in next elections, people who are sick of the Taliban killing 35,000 Pakistanis are going to vote for PPP or ANP; the only 2 parties that the Taliban hate.

• Dear Ms. Siddiqui, Thirty five years ago I was married to an extremely wealthy and prominent member of the PPP. I was a girl who had grown up in Britain, taken back to Pakistan after a forcibly arranged marriage, and lucky enough to escape from a family still living in the middle ages, but during that short time, I overheard much that horrified me of the tactics the PPP employed. Perhaps times have changed entirely since then. I am not in a position to comment. I am not a supporter of PTI or any other Political Party, since for me it is always the lesser of two evils when it comes to Politicians. I was merely speaking out in defence of the PERSONAL DECENCY of an ex-Cricketer-turned-politician who is impassioned about the state of his Country and desperately clutching at straws to try and restore Pakistan’s self esteem and rid the Country of such an obviously corrupt regime. At least, if nothing else, in Imran Khan we have a CHANCE of a Leader who stands for Morality and the Rights of the Poor. He is TRYING to restore our badly damaged reputation as a Country of Terrorists, which we are now, more than ever, especially after the events of the past few days, globally perceived as. My comments on this Site began with my ridiculing the case put forward by the writer of this Article regarding Imran Khan’s alleged “hidden riches” with which he supports his ex-wife (the daughter of a deceased billionaire) and two sons in England…an allegation which is frankly ridiculous. This led me to watching several of his speeches recently on Youtube, and what comes across is the Sincerity of the Man, which is undoubted. He does not uncomfortably squirm in his seat, avoiding difficult questions, but looks his Interviewer straight in the eye and answers with Truth, despite constantly being derided for his past, youthful antics, which is such a cowardly tactic. Which of us has led perfect lives? And unless I am utterly ignorant, he has explained time and again that the Taliban are being driven to be linked with Al Qaeda by our existing regime, instead of being separated from them. The Pathans are a people, who through the Centuries, wish to be left largely alone to pursue their lives in peace, and they only retaliate when they are under attack. Unlike you, forgive me, I am not wholly conversant with the political situation in Pakistan, and as you see I have not once referred to it. Perhaps the only way Imran Khan found to rally support for the good of the Whole was by using the flood situation to at least gather crowds and drive a message home, a message so much more important for the future of Pakistan, than a temporary, albeit horrific situation which I Pray will, in time, with God’s assistance, be solved. I simply tried to defend a man I felt was being unjustly accused. But what do I know? One thing only, nothing else has worked. And no other Governing body has worked. In 63 years, the Political situation keeps deteriorating. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Even though this statement can be written off as a simplistic one, I abide by it, and feel strongly, give Imran Khan a chance to make a difference. We no longer have ANYTHING left to lose. I appreciate the decency in which you addressed me, as one Lady to another. There have been some truly ill-mannered statements on this Site which are unnecessarily abusive, and misguidedly directed at women which I find quite heinous such as that of “Truth Seeker”.
Shireen Khan.

• @Shireen Khan, the Taliban were already with Al-Qaeeda before 9/11. I have seen that Imran Khan openly lies about many things. Did you even see the clip exposing his lies about the Taliban. Please open your eyes as I have and don’t let your past personal life affect your judgement. You might as well be voting for Mullah Omar by voting for Imran.

• Ms.Siddiqui, Has Imran denied that the Taliban were already with Al Qaeeda before 9/11? I am asking, since I do not know enough about the situation, and there are so many lies and counter lies in Politics, that who does one believe? And are you sure that the timing makes such a difference anyway, because according to Imran, they were PUSHED into aligning themselves with Al Qaeeda…surely that is the point rather than at which point, or how many years ago they joined forces? Is the point not that the Pakistani Government should concentrate on doing whatever they can to separate the two now? To prevent further damage to the credibility of Pakistan NOT being a Terrorist State? I agree, though it is hard, not to let my past personal life affect my judgement, and see what is going on today, 35 years later. But are you really so confident that not doing anything is the way forward? That leaving this incredibly corrupt Government in Pakistan is our only option? Or should we opt for change, in any form better than the present? I have not seen any clip exposing Imran Khan yet having lied about anything, and would be greatly disappointed to believe he was capable of being anything less than absolutely Truthful and Sincere. I will dwell carefully on everything you have written. Thank you for taking the trouble to write again…
Shireen Jamil

• WHAT NOW? Another eighty people killed? Who in Pakistan is most qualified to speak to the people of the North West Frontier, who loathe the United States, distrust the Pakistan Army and have lost all faith in the Present Government? How many more lives have to be lost before this situation gets completely out of hand? Pakistan is drowning not in floods, but in blood. And soon it will largely be the blood of the completely innocent. Is it not time to bring in one of their own to try to bring about peace? To at least ATTEMPT to distance the Taliban from Al Qaeda? And the U.S.A.’s answer to the atrocity committed tonight? To add to the horror by sending in yet another drone to kill a few more innocent people. Surely, if nothing else, Imran Khan has been adamantly vocal in his demand that these random drone attacks be stopped at any cost. He, more than anyone else, certainly, in Pakistani politics, has managed to raise serious objections to this most heinous of crimes. These are sad times indeed.
Shireen Khan.

• Alright i frequently read stuff from LUBP and i dont agree to PTI’s policy of supporting TALIBANs etc

BUT
come on, this is crap. Living in a country where mr 10% is on top you LUBP people are scrutinizing IMRAN like GOD sent angels.

There is no doubt IMRAN needs to be very careful about money dealings but seriously this was over the line.

Very pathetic attempt to tarnish IMRAN’s image, sorry to say

• great effort and i wish God bless you from Imran’s blind lovers and chamchas those love him for nothing. He is a coward as he ran away from last general elections. he is a puppet and can well speak louder on roads and tv channels. and it is strange that why tv channels call a person having no mandate from public. he talks too much against PPP, MQM, Nawaz, army and everything and i never see him talking bout taliban, al qaida and terrorists rather he is an advocate of this troubles on earth and people from hell.

• he is actually a taliban in disguise and helping them financially through his social work projects and ideas. His accounts must be comprehensively scrutinized.

• every blind lover of Imran is attacking writer, they should reply and discuss the points raised by writer and I being an accounts persons these points are valid

• Dear Mr. “Bloom”, My Urdu is not quite up to scratch, but are “chamchas” not “Spoons?” or did you mean to say sycophants? I’m not quite sure WHAT an “accounts person” is…however, trying hard to decipher through your language I glean that you consider yourself an “Accountant”, perhaps? Is Detective work your secondary profession, or just a hobby? Because you have categorically stated in writing, which must only mean that you have absolute, irrefutable proof that Imran “is actually a taliban in disguise and helping them financially through his social work projects and ideas”…by which I presume you mean that instead of putting the the funds he raises into improving his magnificent single handed effort of bringing about Social change, with the ground breaking Cancer Hospital he set up so that 75% of its poverty stricken patients can get free treatment, he is plowing all the funds that he receives from it into the Taliban? And unless you watch the Television that possibly exists only in your imagination, if you watch the same one we mere Mortals (as compared with “the people from hell” you refer to), you will find Imran discusses the Taliban, Al Quaeda and most especially Terrorists in particular, and in great detail, (because his aim is to strive to divide the Taliban from Al Quaeda, hence ending Pakistan being referred to as a Terrorist State), at every given opportunity, during almost every address he delivers…unless he is having a lively discussion on Cricket! Perhaps that is why Television interviewers are so keen to hear his view point? Because he does discuss them, being a brave Pathan man, without being terrified of reprisals from the U.S.A. Do put all your facts up on this Site, under your real name. You call Imran a coward for “running away from the last Election, yet you call yourself “BLOOM?”. You are TOO much of a coward even to write in with your real name on a Website! I think you need to examine your own character defects before attacking those of others. Pay HEED to the intelligent and unbiased remarks of Mr. Munib on this Site, who has written just above your hysterical, unfounded accusations. I look forward to seeing a breakdown of your Audit regarding Imran’s finances on this Site shortly as you strongly feel that Imran Khan’s “accounts must be comprehensively scrutinised” I am sure you are just the gentleman to do it…being an “accounts person”, surely it should not be too taxing…if you will excuse the pun!
Written by a brave, celibate, Pathan woman…with perfect eyesight, hence neither “blind” not a “lover” of Imran Khan…

• how do you know we have not protested? we do not need to show you the proof, USA is a free country and we done plenty of protests in USA. you can look at the various facebook pages of PTI USA chapters, we are the only party has an elected body from east to west coast. do not you see Imran khan on CNN? Is he not openly critisizing US policies, again we are not getting money from USA, it is the Govt of Pakistan taking money from USA and killing our own people and keeping their eyes closed. the country has lost everything. No dignity at all.

• I found it surprising to see such an article from PPP supporters.. Not sure how dare they even write this rubbish thing talking about “Let’s rebuild Pakistan”.. They are the ones because of which Pakistan is at the place where it is now and these shameless paid puppets even try to deceive further.. It’s probably just a waste of time to even comment on such useless topic when PPP supporter don’t even have a single logical argument to prove in their favor..

Only last hope for Pakistan is Imran Khan.. Let’s support him any way we can and bring an actual change in Pakistan for the good..

• I do not see a single logical answer from any of PPP supporters.. only single sane voice I found on this page is probably Dr Nasrullah Khan..

And all I can say to Dr Khan is: Thanks for your comments and Please help try wake up anyone you can for this country. This is our country and Imran Khan is our only hope to get this country back on its feet inshallah.. Never feel that you are just one person and you can’t do much.. little by little, ordinary people like you and me, we will bring this change inshallah and it will come. Never under estimate yourself, don’t ever just think of yourself as a mere voter only, think that you can be a leader as well.. Ask yourself, are these zardari & his daku tola any better than you? No.. Absolutely No.. as long as your heart & mind is at the right place, you can make a big difference.. It’s on Allah who HE gives success to and who not.. but we should atleast try our best,..

Let’s move one step ahead of just commenting on blogs & places and admiring Imran Khan.. let’s learn what he teach and shows us by example.. an undaunting courage and rock solid faith in Allah.. no other fear besides Allah.. and never back down, never lose hope for your country, fight like tiger and never under estimate yourself.. try to become like him.. try to lead from front.. if you lead only one person, Allah will bless us inshallah.. Thanks

• I don’t think Amjad Cheema will have a reply for you.. he just put some rubbish here and he has nothing to back it off.. If he had some proof of Imran Khan using bad language, against anyone, he will be all over media trying to create a fake hype.. as always.. that’s how PPP get’s into power always.. playing with sentiments of innocent Pakistani people.

And his remarks about brave people like BB & Salman Taseer.. ohhhh plzzz give me a breakkk.. They were both slaves of their own money-hungry nature.. they did nothing for this country.. they died in attempt to collect more money and nothing else.. I don’t think Mr Amjad Cheema and his sorry party followers can continue to deceive Pakistani people any longer.. their show is up.. they are just trying to loot whatever is left of this country and will run away as soon as first sign of change appears..

By the way, I applaud PPP for doing “another hand” with Nawaz Shareef.. Poor NS was hoping for his turn after PPP but PPP did so blatent looting & corrputing and blunders that his “turn” is gonna be lost as well by Imran Khan.. hahha..

• Absolutely right Fatima.. these PPP paid cronies have nothing logical to say.. they are useless to even answer to..

And yes, Imran Khan is probably too good a leader for this nation.. even after sacrifising his celebrity like life and billion dollar worth wife & kids, he could live anywhere in world like a king, any nationality and so much, but he sacrificed his everything for this country, built so many humanitarian projects for this country and even after 15 yrs of his life in politics trying to solve bigger problems of Pakistan, once & for all.. and these corrupt PPP, PMLN and ignorant people still talking rubbish about him… who are they? what’s their own contribution to this nation & country ? nothing.. really nothing.. except they looted this nation of their everything, money, self-esteem, dignity, prosperity and everything else.. but they are shameless.. they still have to come up with baseless articles & blogs like above.. let’s leave them on their own .. may Allah open their blind-folded eyes and give them sense to see the truth and think beyond their personal benifits.. inshallah

• @Saad

– So is Zardari a leader? or Gilani? what sort of leader? leading in looting this country? What is their contribution to Pakistan?

– Imran is not in denial about Taliban, he opposed them from day one, however his way of dealing with them is different, he wants to negotiate with them, let them deal with their stuff in Afghanistan and save our Pakistan from them. You should not blame Imran for something you don’t know (about him drinking or not), he has no radicalized ideas, he is a nationalist and believes in Islam, not a fake mullah or fake liberal like PPP ultra-mod crowd. He said so many things about Taliban, but true and nothing else. Truth is that Taliban were a government in Afghanistan, which Pakistan and so many other countries recognized. Until 9/11 happened and world turned against them. They were rulers of a soverign country, they were midieval people with too strict islamic concepts, but that’s it. If US decided to deal with them through political means, US could have spent just a couple billion dollars on schools, hospitals & business opportunities for Afghans, and bought out OBL and this world will be much better place to live in today. Not this much radicalization all over the globe and imagine how high US would be standing on moral grounds?

– Imran has clear alternative policy and gave it so many times in different programs. If someone don’t have the caliber to read & understand it, we can’t do much about it.

– Bringing people into tax net, it is not as hard as you think, once rule of law is imposed and most powerful are brought to face justice, things will start falling in its place.. Do you have a better strategy? is PPP a better strategy? ohh comme onn.. give me a break.. we tried already Nawaz & MQM & PPP and these are all the same.. fake politicians and actually daku looters criminals.. that’s it..

Who are you talking about to respect? When did you see a PPP leader talking sense & respecting others? Just tell me a single program .. ?? And you asking Imran to respect? When did you saw him dis-respecting your PPP below the belt? He talks logic, he says what is truth and if you don’t like the truth and felt dis-respected, you may want to look at your end what your party is doing wrong..

Why is there this perception in whole country that Zardari & PPP + PMLN looted this country, he’s biggest criminal? He dis-respects Judiciary, he can sell our country for nothing.. why everyone believes that? There’s some truth to it if not all..

• @Saad Why it bothers you that PTI is registered as LLC with Department of Justice in US? Please explain logic behind your query?

Secondly, I really don’t have time to discuss useless topics trying to compare PTI & Imran Khan with PPP.. ohh please, just don’t even talk further.. I can debate for hours on “44 yrs of PPP democratic struggle”.. I don’t want you.. just tell me after this 44 years of PPP’s democratic struggle, where is Pakistan today? Are you happy with your party’s 44 yrs of achievements? Now don’t start blaming PMLN and others, as PPP was in corridors of powers one way or the other, alongwith 3 regimes of corruption that further ditched this country downwards..

And you talking about Imran Khan drinking? Any proof? There are pictures of Zardari drinking with Chinese premier, Shah Mahmood quereshi drinking, Salman tasseer, haha don’t even mention, he drinks like a fish, always Tunnn after 5:00PM.. you talking about Imran Khan.. that’s the truth of your face, go see it in mirror, really you will see a hideous face of your so called PPP who paid you probably to write such crap here.. go do something better for yourself and your country..

• @Shakeel Arain

You must be happy with your party’s 44 yrs of achievements with current situation of Pakistan.. you guys really achieved what you wanted, right? Now don’t start crying fould blaming PMLN and others, as PPP was in corridors of powers one way or the other, alongwith 3 regimes of corruption that further ditched this country downwards..

And you talking about Imran Khan drinking? Any proof? Didn’t you just said that Imran always point personal issues and who pointed out this drinking thing now? Isn’t it Imran’s personal matter with his Allah.. what does it have to do affecting millions of poor people that are drying in your PPP regime? he didn’t looted every single penny from these poor people of Pakistan like your PPP daku mafia.. He didn’t kept masses in Sindh illetrate and slaved to keep voting for them, what did your BB & Zardari did in Sindh for it’s betterment? Is it worth a place to live after 44 years of your party’s “Democratic struggle”

Also about drinking, There are pictures of Zardari drinking with Chinese premier all over the internet, Shah Mahmood quereshi drinking, Bilawal partying in disco with drink in his hand, just google Bilawal and you will see yourself.. and your so-called shaheed Salman tasseer, haha don’t even mention, he drinks like a fish, always Tunnnnn in evening hours.. and you blaming Imran, because you don’t have anything logical to say against him?? chh chh .. so bad, come prepared next time if you can.. These crappy remarks won’t take you any further.. Pakistan is changed and we will bring positive change in it, unlike your 44 yrs of corruption rule..

• Imran Khan is a great & brave leader of this coward & asleep nation.. but he is actually too good a leader for this nation, who has still not fully realized Imran Khan after 15 years of his politics and 50 years of his life infront of them..

We.. truly salute you Imran Khan, for your courage, for your sacrifice for this asleep nation, for your great leadership by example and for being such a blessing for everyone.. May Allah Almighty keep you in HIS warm & loving care, May you become Prime Minister of Pakistan and change it for good, forever.. amen

• @Ahmed Iqbalabadi

So after reading so many logical comments above, that’s the best argument you come up with? I feel sorry for you, really..

Imran Khan paid 18 lacs a year ago and 22 lacs this year. He made his tax statements public and they are on insaf website, just in case you bother to look? Imran published his tax when he bought the house..

Should I now say anything about your respected Mr 10% and his tax returns? his billions of dollars of looted money stashed in Swiss & foreign accounts? His properties in US, UK, Europe and Dubai? About billions of dollars in bank accounts that BB told Bilawal on phone and CIA recorded that info and published in a book as a proof?

Come on Ahmed Iqbalabadi, find something solid to argue on, or if you dare to kick off the money PPP paid to write these rubbish comments here, then search for the truth and search for a better leader who actually could do something for this country.. By trying to save PPP and daku mafia, you may gain temporary benifit of some small money, but you will pay heavily with faltering situation in Pakistan and when everyone in Pakistan will be affected by loadshedding, businesses not working, people laid off and hunger and so much more, do you think you will be safe from all this? Do you think this falling security condition and financial troubles will not reach you and your family? Try open up your eyes and search the truth, do something that’s better for Pakistan, not yourself.. you will ultimately be benificial..

Iqbalabadi, you didn’t accept my challenge, WHY NOT? Find yourself a ratehole to hide in now!!

BTW, nice attempts of increasing traffic to your pathetic excuse of a blog.

You have been served and from now on you’ll be on the ignore list!!

• And Now WHAT?

• MAY I JUST POINT OUT THAT IT IS NOT “SANA” WHO MADE POINT NO:76. I MADE THAT VERY VALID STATEMENT MYSELF AS POINT NO:59. WHOEVER IS DOWNLOADING THIS SITE SHOULD DO SO IN A MORE COMPETENT MANNER AND REMOVE “SANA” POINT NO:76, OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL CREDIBILITY ATTRIBUTING ONE PERSON’S STATEMENT TO ANOTHER. KINDLY OBSERVE:

• I feel pity for PPP jiyalas crying here with this useless article and then illogical points to trying in vein prove their point.. what a rediculous behavior from PPP & Bhutto supporter who give a damn to where Pakistan is now, still trying to support their Zardari daku & tola.. no wonder our nation is spiraling downwards due to these people, when we have pathetic folks like PPP jiyalas, who need enemies of Pakistan?? good job guys, keep it up, we will keep our efforts to save Pakistan from enemies like you.. and come next elections, we will inshallah tear your party apart..

• Dear Sana,

You have made an awful lot of very valid points and I applaud your efforts, but all your arguments and reasoning, unfortunately, like mine, will, I feel fall on deaf ears. There is a song called “Vincent” which I am not sure whether you are familiar with, which has a few lines that I feel apply to Imran Khan at this moment:

“Now I understand, what you tried to say to me, How you suffered for your sanity, How you tried to set them free, They did not listen, They did not know how, Perhaps they’ll listen now?”

I hope “they understand” before it is too late for Pakistan.

Shireen Jamil.

• P.S. Dear Sana,

In case I have caused any confusion, Shireen Jamil, a friend who shares my first name, and has been following my comments closely on this article, is the lady who told me about the pertinent and poignant lines of that song…hence my attributing her name, below mine, to the above comment.

[WARNING TO ASIM IQBAL: FEEL FREE TO CRITICIZE BUT REFRAIN FROM FOUL LANGUAGE!]

• Imran should pick a side ..is he standing beside sucide bombers(Taliban, Al qaida, Sipah Sahaba)?? or is he really serious about Pakistanis and Pakistan? i hope we all think about it before we go for next poll!!..i am not with or against any however i know one thing that i am and will always be with Pakistan!!

• @Sana

@ Comment 75

Are these people supporters and worker of PTI 😀 ?

Btw talking about greatness of imran khan , here is another of greatest deed i.e. to force Edhi sahib to leave Pakistan .

Q. Have you ever been approached by political or other groups for support?

A. Once, I was approached by General Hamid Gul, Imran Khan and few
others, mostly military and intelligence officials, who were
conspiring to overthrow Benazir Bhutto’s second government and wanted
me to get involved. I declined because I am a social worker and not a
politician. I also did not want to tarnish the credibility of my
organisation by getting embroiled in something that obviously seemed
quite disturbing. Eventually, I was made to feel threatened enough to
temporarily leave the country. “”

• No doubt writer is from PMLN and have taken huge amount for writing this article..Unfortunately when these people dont got any stuff to dis-grade imran then they do these pathetic act. These are traitor of Pakistan..They dnt want to see Pakistan on the path of progress..They are afraid that one day imran will come and hang them in square for looting this country..these type of people sell there mothers & sisters for money.

But first let us know where funding for PTI rallies is coming from? Shouldn’t Imran Khan declare his accounts?

Dear Imran Khan defenders: M. Azhar said exactly that: ppl fund Skmh and ppl fund Pti. Money for Skmh is charity and money for rallies…?!

So the truth is that Imran Khan funds his rallies through the charity money that people give Shaukat Khanam Hospital. Noble on his part, eh!

• I am not a supporter of Imran Khan but being in the finance profession IqbalAbadi sb could have consulted someone who is Professional instead of posting these and raising question he should have consulted him/her, because all the question he raised have more professional, ehtical and Independent answers…

• I have strong reason to believe the author would benefit financially if PPP was in power.

OR he is just blind.

• So why don’t PPP member’s raise this Question in front of him……………….. Baseless allegations. Try something else for defaming him. N writer must be a dumb honestly or may be a Pakistan Enemy, Just to dignify Mr 110% , criticizing Imran Khan for me is not just insanity. Duhhh

• o why don’t PPP member’s raise this Question in front of him……………….. Baseless allegations. Try something else for defaming him. N writer must be a dumb honestly or may be a Pakistan Enemy, Just to dignify Mr 110% , criticizing Imran Khan for me is just insanity. Duhhh

• Its 29th October and still I dont see Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust’s 2010 annual report. Hope there is nothing exciting taking place there

• Mr. Iqbalabadi you are not a credible person that people should believe on your fake statements for which you are paid……………

• Are you an accountant? You just said that the success of the hospital belongs to all the trustees yet blame Imran Khan for its investments. BTW all those investments have been disclosed. Do you know what the term disclosed means, it means that they are public domain not hidden somewhere in a scret account or a house in someone elses name.

• @Salman and Azeem,
meray bhaiyon, aap kay leader, Imran Khan kehtay hayn mulk ka paisa bahar nahee jana chahiye. Yeh hospital to Pakistan mayn hay. Iss ka paisa bhee Pakistan mayn rehna chahiye ya meyn ghalat keh raha hoon?

I am not saying that they have not disclosed. They have disclosed, but then with Imran Khan being the Chairman of the Trust, he should give the Board the direction that paisa will and should remain in Pakistan.

How much those investments are yielding, I really doubt it if they are.

• @Tatom,

I am a finance and investment professional. I know the answers myself, I wanted to know the response of PTI supporters. What Imran Khan does is hypocrisy. Say something and do something else.

• Dear Ahmmed Iqbalabadi.
Your english clearly reflects on your level of professionalism and how much you may know about what you are talking. Anyhow you are holding him accountable for just 12 to 13 million dollars here where as he might have earned over 30 million pounds sterling just by playing county. Apart from that, his sons are heir, to a conglumerate. If he has not declared the above mentioned investment even if they exist, then it means they are not his. And please here in UK even the britishers know about Zardari and the gang, so please refrain from justifying him

• And please accept what the majority is saying here and stop answering them. I know what its like when one has to do this, you being less capable. It might give you a heart attack. Just take deep breaths and rest. The Pakistani Nation has given its mandate to Imran Khan yesterday at Lahore. Go and find an answer to that.

• Hi guys ! This seems to be an interesting debate, in my opinion the investments abroad shows efficient strategy on part of SKMT, because Rupee is devalueing year on year. To invest global when your currency is devaluing makes perfect hedging sense.
The difference people are not willing to appreciate here is that, its not Imran’s personal money, whereas Zardari has allegations against his personal belongings, that have been genereated from unfair means.
Effectively look at the two brands Zardari and Imran ! If democracy is taken in its true sense Imran is a clear winner, he has not gathered all this fame and love because he was son in law of Bhutto or was husband of a former PM, this clears shows that interms of competence and in true spirit of demeocracy Imran khan is the future of Pakistan.
Lets see the change, if this change fails, if Imran is not the right person we will havce another leader, lets get out of this culture of making personalitites bigger than the cause itself.

• Lagey rahoo Ahmed Bhai…… I am appulled at your allegations…. keeping funds in diverse but legal ivestments sure qualify as something rotten…..

• waisay people still have no idea how futile it is to condemn Imran Khan and defend Zardari…..and by the way, Shaukat Khanum is not run or owned by Imran Khan, it is a trust that is governed independently and Imran Khan only does fund raising for it.

•
Imran Khan, the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf keeps roaring on the money of political leaders abroad and how that is affecting our country’s development. Imran Khan is known to be a person of means, and this I am quite certain that he has certain obligations abroad, like an ex-wife and sons living with his ex-wife. Does he send the kids any money or he doesn’t? If he does, he either does it from Pakistan, through remittance or has accounts abroad. If he doesn’t, that would speak volumes about the man who preaches morality, ghairat and honor. These are his personal matters and should not be discussed that much, however, something more public is his accomplished project of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust.
the question raised itself is a shame to this columnist who in second last sentence accepted it as well.
During 2009, the cash donations and zakat received by the Trust was Rs. 1.485 billion compared to Rs. 1.106 billion in 2008. We can assume that if not majority, a significant amount is raised in Pakistan.
Speculation !
Imran Khan talks against money being kept abroad. In notes to accounts number 11, I can see an amount at cost of US $5.5mn invested in form of capital protected notes in foreign funds. With interest rates down globally I am sure these notes are not yielding much.
purely a business matter, got nothing to do with IK (as chairman of SKMH)… and by the way if a part of SKMH charity is invested in US, just because the dividend might not be as much as it used to be, makes no sense of objection in the first place, secondly its not his personal wealth!! its a charity organization that has investments to raise more money to run the affairs of the trust. #Fail
Hyderi. Isn’t that a conflict of interest?
again same idiotic objection. if the author had studied some basic finance course, he might not have had put himself into trouble of writing this piece…

the second part, about conflict of interest, I dont know if author of the article thinks that the members of the board of director of SKMH are deliberately benefiting one of the member namely Imtiaz h. hyderi. Yes as ridiculous as it seems… the author of the article definitely needs to take some education about business world.

Why does the Trust consider these two banks only for their fixed deposits?
seriously, if that is objection, its gone to the lamest level… how you diverse your portfolio money is with better returns, and I am sure if you look at the complete portfolio it would clear up the picture, not just pick and choose random speculation…

What would happen if the investments of nearly US$ 12.5 million were to go bust? That is almost Rs. 1.062 billion! Please think about it.
just as pathetic as it could get !!

rest are further bullshits and brain farts, below my dignity to reply !

• An extremely stupid article. The author clearly does not have an understanding of financial statements and I challenge to discuss the same with me directly.

For now, I will simply say that does he know better than Pakistan’s number one audit form A F Fergusons?

• This article is full of false stories. Pakistan has left with very few honest people and Imran is one of those.

If you are not honest then the World will not praise you. He has been 100% honest therefore people have given him charity always. Even today his voice is spoken by millions each day.

May Allah bless him and my country. Ameen.
