The recent polio outbreak in Pakistan is very much an outcome of the disastrous Pro Taliban policies

Around 2009, one saw posters of Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and the late Benazir Bhutto leading a polio eradication campaign. Of course, this also earned the ire of “educated” “chattering class” Pakistanis whose hero was the ISI-backed Imran Khan.

At this time, Imran Khan Niazi was passionately advocating for his Taliban buddies who were brazenly bombing girls schools and shooting polio workers.

The most significant thing, besides massive corruption, that Niazi achieved in his stint of ruling KPK since 2013, was funding Takfeeri Madressas to the tune of tens of millions. This is the notorious Akora Khattak madrassa that is the Eton for the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other sectarian terrorists.

The recent polio outbreak in Pakistan is very much an outcome of the disastrous Pro Taliban policies pursued by the State; policies of which both Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif remained rabid supporters of till 2015.

One does not need to wonder what the outcome would have been if the Taliban/Sipah e Sahaba had not shot polio workers across Pakistan during the last decade.

If a rabid dog bites some in Larkana, Sindh, these urban chatterers start lining up to abuse Bilawal and PPP. It does not matter that the PPP Sindh Government actually looked after all the medical expenses of the dog bite victims.

HIV and Polio cases have been reported all over Pakistan but Niazi and the Sharifs are never criticized. It is only PPP that has (relatively) the best record of providing essential medical services to the public, that is selectively abused and smeared by media shock jocks and brainwashed chatterers.
