Imran Khan’s current debacle in the United States reminds one of Nawaz Sharif’s 1999 debacle

The establishment chooses its stooge carefully. Bhuttos are not to be trusted. Only spineless chauvinists are seen fit for the job. In 1999 (and 2007-16) , it was Nawaz Sharif and in 2019, it is Imran Khan.

Both of them and their foreign ministers have performed abysmally. Sartaj Aziz’s 1999 performance on BBC was one of the most embarrassing moments for us in Pakistan. The man was utterly clueless and out of the loop. Just like his lazy, good for nothing boss Nawaz Sharif.

This was before we were forced fed the rubbish by the Najam Shady’s and the Cyril Almeida about Nawaz Sharif being the second coming of Voltaire and Che Guevara.

This is because both Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif are essentially stooges who failed to stand up to General Bajwa and General Musharaf.

From 2007-2014, both Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan collaborated with the ISI. Their special target was the PPP Government. While they fell out and one is currently prevailing over the other, their DNA remains the same.

Just look at the difference between this spineless, duffer stooge Imran Khan and a sensible leader like Bilawal.

Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif use foreign pulpits to absolve themselves while Bilawal is the one with the actual guts to call this out in parliament.

Meanwhile, Bilawal bravely used the Pakistani parliament floor to address this issue and point out the PTI ministers still in cahoots with the Terrorists – including but not limited to Asad Umar, Shehriyar Afridi and Sheikh Rashid.

Outside Pakistan, Bilawal not only presented a united front but cleverly asserted civilian control over the army. As it should be. Something beyond the capabilities of spineless establishment stooges like Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan.

When Zia-ist elements in the Pakistan army continued to play a dangerous double game, it was Benazir and then Zardari/Gillani/Bilawal/PPP/ANP who opposed this policy.

Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif were the biggest supporters and apologists for this policy. Shahbaz Sharif called the Taliban/Sipah Sahaba “our own” in 2010.

In 2014, at the height of the Taliban’s massacres in Pakistan, it was then PM Nawaz Sharif who equated opposition to talks with the murderous Pakistan with being a traitor!! Irfan Siddiqui of PML N was the PML N point person for talks with the Taliban. We all saw how Pakistani liberals rallied to support Irfan and of course Nawaz Sharif.

And then there is Imran Khan. This insensitive duffer supported the Taliban versus Benazir Bhutto whose murder he both refused to condemn and condole.

His videos denying the crimes of the Taliban are multiple.

And Imran Khan is also the darling of Pakistan’s educated class.

Only spineless twits like Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif try to absolve themselves outside of Pakistan deny their own decades-long, dirty collaboration with the Zia-ist elements who conducted these ruinous policies.

Those with courage like Bilawal called this out in parliament and condemned it unequivocally.
