I don’t want to break my resolution to have break from social media. But I could not resist to write these few lines after watching this little clip of my favorite Marvi Sirmed.

If I had watched this clip two years back, I would have shouted bravo, and had declared Marvi Sarmad as the bravest lady in Pakistan. But after watching this clip today, the first thing I did was to find out who is Maulana Raghib Naeemi. My Google search yielded that Raghib Naeemi is a Sunni Baerlvi cleric, son of Maulana Sarfraz Naeemi who was killed by Takfiri Deobandi ASWJ-TTP terrorists because of his fatwa against suicide bombings. A little smile came on my face.
This battle is very complex in nature. I call it the battle based on the doctrine of Khair-ul-Makireen (a doctrine which allows all types of deceit, lies and pretentions as part of religion). Indeed, I most strongly condemn murder of Salmaan Taseer and its justification on any pretext. But at the same time I am aware that Sunni Barelvis as a community cannot be held responsible for Mumtaz Qadri’s crimes, nor can they be equated with the Takfiri Deobandi killing machine which is massacring Pakistanis of all faiths, sects and ethnicities on daily basis.
In Pakistan, it is always very hard to identify the people’s real motives. Marvi Sirmed who happens to be a close relative of Akram Lahori, the co-founder of banned Deobandi terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, can not be so bold against a Deobandi molvi, but she can rip apart a Sunni Bralevi molvi, and it is not difficult to understand why. It is important to note that Salmaan Taseer Shaheed was himself a Sunni Bralevi “Muslim”.
Thus, Marvi Sirmed’s bravery against a Sunni Barelvi cleric is also consistent with how certain (fake) liberals eulogized and promoted Veena Mlaik’s aggressive bravado against Mufti Abdul Qawi a few years ago; they wrote songs for Veena Malik, promoted her as an icon of liberalism and gender equality, wrote columns in Pakistani and international media. Once again, Mufti Abdul Qawi was a Sunni Barelvi cleric, yes, the community without guns and Saudi Riyals. https://lubpak.net/archives/38302 https://lubpak.net/archives/38651
This selective bashing of Sunni Barelvis is in stark contrast to the uncritical promotion, criminal subservience or/and silence on Takfiri Deobandi clerics some of whom (such as, Ludhyanvi and Ashrafi) are regularly invited by the same anchor on the same TV station (Capital TV) where the Sunni Barelvi cleric was ripped apart by Marvi Sirmed. https://lubpak.net/archives/286001
Will Pakistani elitist liberals show one-tenth of aggression and boldness in bashing Deobandi hate clerics such as Ahmed Ludhyanvi, Aurangzeb Farooqi and Sami-ul-Haq, the way they bash Sunni Barelvis?
