Khadim-e-Aala’s corruption in Punjab Government’s Health Department – by Farhad Jarral

In recent past, Khadim-e-Aala Punjab (CM Shahbaz Sharif) and his party chief (Nawaz Sharif) were found actively playing the flood politics against President Zardari and the federal government. A lot of press conferences were conducted by PML-N Chief to criticize Government on the flood relief work; at the other side the Khadim-e-Aala also got the coverage of Jeem group’s newspaper and TV channel while riding on a motor cycle Honda-125 :).

All along, both of these brothers have been repeating that they are public servants, and that they’ll try their best to help the affected masses.

Yesterday, Mubashir Lucman exposed the corruption of Khadim-e-Aala’s Health Ministry in his program ‘Point Blank with Mubashir Lucman’. The interesting thing is that this corruption is related to the relief work of flood affectees. Punjab Govt’s Health Department which is operated under supervision of Punjab’s Khadim-e-Aala as he has the charge of Health Minister is involved in 80 Million corruption on the purchase of first aid medicines e.g. Poly fax, Panadol and Calpol. These medicines were purchased at the margin of 292% from the actual price and the tricky thing is that a single purchase order was carefully limited to an amount of 80,000 to 1 Lac which is not a big amount and no one can find corruption in this.

Mubashir Lucman has rightly demanded a suo-moto action from Iftikhar Chaudhary on this case. He said that the Punjab Government is still on the stay order; He reminded Dr. Saeed Elahi, the parliamentary member Health (Punjab Government) that the PML-N have close relations with the courts, that’s why their cases are still pending. He added that I’ve read the book of Khawaja Sharif (CJ Lahore High Court) and from past 1 and a half year no hearing is conducted by the Supreme Court on your leadership’s cases.

I was looking forward to the Geo TV’s Kamran Khan talk show last night as Kamran Khan has got the THEKA of unmasking the corruption in Pakistan. But as expected he didn’t know about the Khadim-e-Aala’s corruption. Or Kamarn Khan’s boss MSR (CEO of Geo TV) didn’t want him to break such reports/news about the corruption in Punjab because of the reconciliation policy of N-League with the Jeem group.

It may be noted that there’s no Education, Health and Home Minister in Punjab. All these departments are operated under supervision of Khadim-e-Aala and it’s the easiest solution to avoid media and talk shows. Who’s answerable for the corruption in these departments? If this is called the relief work then it’s better to do nothing for the masses who’ve a lot of hopes from their elected leaders.

First the Sassti Roti program was failed because of huge corruption and now the flood relief money is used for the relief of N-League’s Ghareeb Ghurba (Poor) Leadership.

I must mention the work done by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari for the flood relief which is far transparent than the Khadim-e-Aala’s loot maar campaign on flood relief. Khadim-e-Aala Jawab do…

Here are the video clips of the talk show ‘Point Blank with Mubashir Lucman 1 Nov 2010’:
